As of now I'm not certain if they're staying with the SGC grading scale, they may be leaning more to the BGS grading scale. Let me know what you guys think or what you've heard.
Thanks for your video. I have only submitted to RCG and was curious on how the grading scale they use. I am curious now because I see more cards are being scored as 8-9.5. I’m happy for you that you got a Prizm slab. Still trying to get one of those. Have you submitted a card graded by RCG to a different company to compare scores?
@@elitecardsncollectibles7216 Thanks for watching! I honestly have no idea what their grading scale is anymore which is why I've pumped the breaks on using them for now. Like you said they are giving more 9s and 9.5s for whatever reason. It seems to me like they're now going with some kind of grading scale between BGS/HGA and PSA/ SGC which IMO is terrible. With BGS/HGA at least you know the 9.5 is the standard Gem Mint and if you hit a 10 its holy grail rare valuable slab. With PSA/ SGC you expect 10's as the standard gem Mint whuch are valuable and are moderately achievable while the 9.5's and 9s are less desired Mint grades. The reason l think RCG being stuck in the middle is bad is because there 10 Jewel and Crown Jewel are not really recognized by buyers/collectors and they give out just enough 10's that it devalues the 9.5s and makes 9s close to worthless. If the 10's were super rare like BGS/hga then people would still value the 9.5, but they don't give out 10s nearly as often as psa/sgc but there's just enough of them where buyer's would rather expect and purchase 10 when in actuality 10's are not likely to be available. Hopefully what I'm typing is making sense, it would better articulated in an actual conversation. I haven't crossed anything over from RCG because I've only sent lower end cards so it's not worth the experiment for me. However I do feel the graders are not very experienced and inconsistent. I examined the cards closer off camera and alot of them were undergraded and they are way off on judging centering
@@hobbylottery5014 This is what RCG told me, “Sure yes. We are tougher on centering than psa and slightly less than Beckett. We have our grading standards in our site and in our bio it breaks down every detail. We have professionals with experience here so we take grading consistently and accurately to our standards very seriously. More than anything else. We want our grades to hold up long term.” Yes, I do agree with you and hopefully RCG will make the improvements. I see a lot of potential with them.
Sick slabs man, I have submitted with PSA, BGS, HGA, and RCG. And this is just my opinion, I like RCG slabs the best because they have improved on their designs. With HGA I learnt to go with the neutral label look, but their labels sometimes moves around the slab, RCG print the design and label onto the slab, so no moving parts.
I love the RCG slabs too my man, thanks for watching 👍🏾.The one concerning thing to me though is that I don't know the grading scale they're using. It's like they're somewhere in between the bgs/hga model and the psa/sgc model which in my opinion isn't good. They've got to come out and verify this because these 9.5s and 9s are going to be tough sells and close to worthless because people will want 10's, but there 10's aren't as rare as BGS 10's so it makes the 9.5 Mint grade kind of worthless for them. At least HGA/CSG, and BGS made it known that 9.5 is their standard Mint grade and 10s will be very hard to achieve, that way the collector knows there 9.5 is still a great grade and not to expect a 10. Hopefully this makes being read as a comment.
I’m sorry to hear that man, I will admit that I’ve completely moved on from this company since this video. Once I took a closer look at this submission off camera I further realized that they are just not good at grading, especially on centering. I hope you get your cards soon.
