In the book, it is shown that she was going to write I love you out of her usual habit...but ends writing just April at the end of the note ..... this symbolises even the strongest feelings die when taken for granted.
I cant believe this is acting...no , he's so into the character that it's impossible to watch without crying your eyes out...omg, he's the best actor ever ,....im just in tears right now , why did April do it? Why? :( I know she didn't wanna love anymore, but ,,,,aaahh how awesome would a happy ending be????
My guess is they did not want to make her suicide look that intentional. She wanted the abortion and was willing to do it at any cost. Whether she lived or not was not her priority. She did call the ambulance. If she was really going for suicide she would not have called.
I'd forgotten how heart wrenching and haunting this scene is. Awesome to see the very talented David Harbour, aka Chief Jim Hopper, in here. But damn, Leo should've won the Oscar for this scene alone!
I feel like it was the right decision to delete this scene. I feel like all of the people who say "it shows that it wasn't Frank's fault" watched the film with their eyes closed. He knocked her up on purpose, he shamed her for wanting a safe abortion just so he could keep his "safe" life and then told her she should've done it (which shows how he would treat her for the rest of her life after the child would be born). He IS the reason she died, she could've done it safely, but she didn't because of him. I don't feel like showing it makes the ending more powerful, instead it shows a more easy way out for people who think that April was in the wrong.
The Revolutionary Road: "Dear Frank, whatever happens, don't blame yourself, I love you." Titanic: "Darling, now you can keep us both locked in your safe. Rose." Extremely sad to see Jack in Cal's place.
I see why they deleted this scene. In the final cut Aprils death was abrupt and Frank in the park with the kids shows how much his life changed how empty it was and how "small" their problems were that they let spin out of control. This scene lingers too much on the death loses the shock value for the audience. damn good film plot sounds boring as hell but it is a emotional roller coaster 5 stars
Why this scene was deleted and not included? The acting of Leonardo DiCaprio in this film was awesome and very powerful, a truly brilliant actor in this generation and why on earth he didn’t have an Oscar with that performance he delivered in Revolutionary Road? To me he’s my all time favourite actor no other actors in this generation can beat him when it comes to acting. He’s so versatile actor and can played any roles and his acting skills is unbelievable and no one can beat him when it comes to his superb performance in any movies he made. You’re my Hero Leo.
omg i watched the film a few times but never knew this scene was taken. they shouldnt have deleted this for real. now i got to deeply get the ending. whatta sequence and surreal acting.
I was thinking about that movie for that story for couple days after I watched it so painful I can't understand why April choose to took her life they would sort out their problems it wasn't that hard and I am surprised that why they delete this scene it was awesome
It should have an ending like April gave birth and both of them again started a new life!!! And forgot all their pain from their little ones smile😍😯 because I can't able to see this scene😪😪
Yeah I’m 11-12 years late. Anyways, I think what they should of done is when frank was moving out he should of found the letter. (The suicide note) and then held it close to his chest and smiled, or a light tear streaming down his face. And then they show him moving and then the park scene. But otherwise I see why they deleted this scene. I’m just so confused, April left a SUICIDE note! Why? It doesn’t make sense!!
I'm so late too but I don't think it's a suicide letter. She called the ambulance, like one of the comments here, if she was really going for suicide she wouldn't have called...
injun they never said she called the ambulance. She was having an at home abortion and was depressed, that’s why she wanted to go to France to restart. Why did she write the note? She’s dying an has that much time to write it?
@@jennajennane12 Oh, I watched this movie long ago so I can't remember too well. But yeah, I remember that she was calling someone and said "I'm bleeding" or something like that. The note also can be interpreted that she know she could die but did that anyway...
This movie is too sad. Feel like trap can't get happiness. Like bad ball energy. Can't fix relationship anymore, one have to died to see other one how they feel miserable
The ending would have been too long otherwise. We get know that she dies in hospital and Frank is devastasted and moves out of the house, then we have the former neighbors gossiping. I won't deny that the scene is well made but I think it's a bit too much. We all get that April is dead and Frank is grieving and that's the actual ending.
+Sø Majestic she aborted her fetus. did anyone watching this video actually see the movie?? after she aborted she dies because of loss of blood (hence why it trickles 'randomly' down her leg after pulling her child out as she stares out the window) just before frank is waiting for her in the hospital - in this scene he comes back to the house. and discovers it was her own self imposed suicide and abortion.
its overly acted and the screenplay is nonsense... how could he be in the living room whe the previous scene he is the bathroom... does he have a power to teleport or did he just past through walls..? hahaha...
