This time we are going to take a look at an outdoor gear brand RevolutionRace and check out, whether what they advertise is actually true. Reviewed products: GP Pro Pants (Dark Olive) Silence Proshell Jacket 2.0 (Dark Olive)
Nice and honest review, I agree with all of your comments. Even though the products are cheaper than the established brands you should expect a fully functional product. But the design and sizing is a worse problem. I can only use short length pants (normally use jeans 32/32 being 170 cm long and 78 kg normal waist) as the models are far too long for normally built men. The leg endings are also far too narrow to fit properly over any normal hiking boot like Meindl or Crispi. I can't understand why they spend money on extra buttons when you can only use the first one? I've sent my feedback about sizing the products in length and weight instead of S, M, L etc. Ladies clothes seems to start with XS for ladies from 164 cm and up? I know a lot of ladies shorter than that who'd love to use these but can't.
Thanks for the review - well balanced and honest. I’ve done a lot of reviews of RR trousers; jackets etc. Some really pleased with; I definitely agree with your comments on the leg endings; which they seem to have put right on their Wander Pro trousers (i love them); but again on other Gp trousers and adrenaline Jeans I’ve had issues with stitching . They need to improve on their Quality Control. They are getting there. 👍 just need to tighten up a little. Loose Colton on trousers that originally cost nearly £95 isn’t acceptable. ATB Mark.
Burn the threads. Don’t cut it. If you just cut loose threads it will eventually unravel land get unstitched. Melt it and press it with your finger. It will be more durable.
Thank you for the review. I haven't seen a review this honest in a long time. I eyed the RR pants since they appeared but never bought them. I might gove them a chance if I can figure out which size is best for me since my upper legs are quite thick and I can't stand a too tight fit. Greetings from Romania.
Thanks for the review I've been looking at jackets and wasn't sure if I could justify the money on Patagonia or Berghaus for dog walking, so I started looking at RR. Now I'm thinking it might be worth shelling out the money on the big brands
Useful review. I had wondered, when seeing the prices of this stuff, just where costs had been cut in the production process and now I know. Finishing this poor should never pass inspection by Quality Control in ANY production facility - these products look like seconds. A colleague of mine has a pair of trousers from this brand - not sure which model - and really likes them but it rather does seem as if there's a lot of variation in quality. QC by the brand themselves must also be lacking if they're accepting this poor build standard.
Great review. I was thinking to buy this jacket because they look good and had a reasonable price. But now when seeing the low quality I’m not too sure. I’m thinking going with Asivik Storm jacket or Helly Hansen Odin’s 9. Do you have any suggestions of a good alternative?
One of the best reviews of a product I've ever seen ...I bought a rr trousers recently and EVERYTHING he said I also picked up on...if youre used to Rab arcteryx Mammut quality etc .....then don't buy RR it's not in that league in terms of quality
I just received my GP Pro pants and I can confirm, that the leg ending is way too narrow. This is the first negative thing I discovered right away. Exactly like you showed here.
I just bought the Nordwand Pro pants and the GP Pro jacket and the design and materials are great yes, but the stiching quality is really poor. I'm still thinking if I'll keep them or just send them back... Probably I'll give them a chance this time and I can have a better opinion. Thanks for your honest review!
Thx for review! I just bought Cyclone Rescue Jacket 2.0 and so far I am pretty impressed. Good design and materials, very lightweight, fits perfec. Almost all stitches are taped, few singl line stitches visible looks perfect, no defects found so far. I bought it as a replacement for my old Tilak Poutnik Ventile jacket since prices of new collection are over the top. Time will tel if it was a mistake or not ;)
@@richburmond6761 I was wearing it last mild winter in the city. From. -5°C to +5°C, Its not warm feeling at all, but you are not cold eather, probably something with how breathable jacket is. In +12°C you will be plenty warm IMHO From +6 to +15°C I usualy wear only t-shirt + windbreaker ;)
@@podfuk nice! Im usually warm quickly . But was thinking of getting a merino wool 't shirt (not too thick, the ones from decathlon) and I hope only that layer would be warm enough. If not i need to look into a thin but also insulated jcket
@@richburmond6761 It is definitely light and wind-proof jacket. I was wearing it with long sleeved thermo shirt + wool cap in the last winter, and it was good enough even in freezing temperatures.
Similar experiences. I got a pair of their pants as a gift and gave them away. They're nowhere near the quality of Haglofs or Salewa which I normally wear. Cortazu stuff is much better if you want a DTC Internet brand.
You got to low boots that why the boothoks not work, its the same system in the swedish army pants. I am sking in my pants in deep snow quite a lot and it work great. I never get any snow in the skiboots. Its not the same quality as fjällräven and lundhags pants, but they cost twise the money. You dont need perfect quality. I have owned three pair of pants and they are good enough for me. But its not perfect quality, but you dont need that.
Like the review. I am quite surprised though. Got myself a few products and they were really well made. Don't know how come you got such average products yourself. Looks like it is really important to perform quality check after receiving their clothes since the quality really differs.
Seems like the issue with most budget stuff, usually the cost is cut on QC (think Aliexpress). With these brands it's luck of the draw, I actually ordered another jacket model from RR after this review and it's near perfect (for the price of course), still 2 out of 3 items defective is not great.
I have the RCGP trousers they are very good but i agree with you that is unexceptable your trousers need to go back i think they are doing really well selling thousands of items daily so to keep up they have subcontracted the work to less good and cheaper and faster companys to make the clothes it's all about money to these people if they don't sort out this quality issue they will lose their good name i now IAM not going to buy my winter coat from them after your review so thanks mate good honest review
The Nordwand pants have the weakest materials where you would need the strongest, and the other way around, they really put stretch material on the knees. I have no words for this other than it’s a fashion brand and not an outdoor brand!
Check the label, maybe made by children in Bangladesh or some other very low wages country? When you work 12 hours a day on an empty stumic you tend to loose some stiches....
I own 3 pairs of pants and a jacket- All of them is terrible bad quility.... i bought 3 diffrent models pants in the same size, but they are all over the place in sizes. The Stretch material is ruined and filled with big holes and tears after 2 days of use, The Sticthing is horrible... Loose end, parts not being sewed, and patches that just fall off, couse the stiching did hold. The Colors just got super super dull , after a few washes. I allso bought a jacket, the Arms are soo slim, u barly can wear anyhthing under... and they arm area dont stop any wind or mosture at all... Im freezing to death when i wear it, but it look cool.... =( All in All, i CANT recomend RR Revolution Race gear at all! Its for show, not use.
I give up!! This company must be loosing a fortune because I'll be damned if Anyone can figure out their sizing guide. According to my weight I should be between 5'9 and 5'11... I'm 5'7 According to my hips I'm this, according to my seat I'm that. So, I gave up trying to buy a pair. I will return the day that they simplify it for the UK market. I just need to know what men's trousers fit a 34 waist with a 30" inside leg. That's all I need to know. A company that targets specific markets should provide a proper size guide for that market. Common sense really. You don't want returns of goods, you want happy content customers from the start. Ohhhh rant over. But if anyone out there can tell me what size I need to order for a 34-36 waist and inside leg of 30-32 inches, I'd be most appreciative
Surprized you still have them to do a review. Free shit is great, thats why there are so many shill reviews on youtube. I hope you sent them back for a refund.
