Hello ! that's a very nice clean machine I have two A77 Revox MK1and MK4 the MK4 the capstan motor is not working I'm not a electronic tech the most I can do is replace parts so I replaced (3) run capacitor motor ,control board, speed board , power supply board all new and the capstan motor won't work what do you suggest I should do next ? I see this video is old and how do like Curitiba ?
I like Curitiba but the current government is terrible since Lula got in. I'll most likely be back in England this year. I Plan on servicing stuff again.
I'm in the US Miami, Florida If I go back to Brasil I want go south as possible maybe "Gramados" look like Europe , have you been there ?@@delatronics3257
Hello sir.I saw your restoration..I was referring to the my revox a77 that goes below normal speed in play..it goes below normal speed but constantly.. kind of 18 instead of 19 ...what could be ?? Thank you Laurentiu....@
The A77 sounds warmer and more tape like. Best sounding but most ugly of the A77s is the Mk1 IMHO. The B77s look the nicest IMHO but sound a little thin in comparison (electronics were revised but with an improvement in design and reliability/cost, but detrimental to sound quality if you seek warm tape sound quality).
@@delatronics3257 This is exactly the response I was hoping for in terms of sonics, thank you. I'm considering A77mkIV in good shape but it doesn't do 15ips, but noticed (at least on RU-vid) how great even 7.5ips sounded. A dealer I recently met is suggesting I may be happier with the Otari 5050Bmkii. A lot to wrap my mind around but this is helpful.
This is party true, but until you've bought a batch of used recorded on tapes on ebay and discovered an old gem of audio from the 60s or 70s, realise how silky smooth the tape sound is compared to horrible sounding MP3s, you'll never know the beauty of analogue tape! Your personal opinion is noted however, and I respect that.
