Long time REVV player. Stuff is all built like a tank, toured with my Generator 120 for years, never a single issue. Played one of the G20s they had at NAMM this year a bunch. At $1629 CAD, it's only $350 more than a Marshall DSL100, sounds way better, has additional channel capabilities, weighs a couple lbs, fits in the overhead bin of an airplane and has a load box (you don't even need a cabinet if you don't want, silent home recording/jamming and FOH guys will love you). Good gear costs money...#facts
This amp is easily worth its price. The build quality is insanely good - as is its sound. I never had so much fun playing my guitar as with this amp, the sound is just great. And on top you get the two notes torpedo which costs about 600€ as a stand-alone unit. You’ll be hard pressed to find an equally well built all-tube amp made in a western country for such a price point.
Revv Amps especially the D and G 20 series are the most flexible amp in the entire world. People asked me its expensive but take a look at this machine, you'll get the Revv tone and you get the Twonotes in One amazing Box. Trust me this amp is the bomb!
I have this exact (white) D20 ... and it is amazing ... spectacular ... amazing ... Great pedal platform and having the Two Notes torpedo for cab and speaker emulation making this an amazing and very versatile platform.
Got a G20. And it worth every $ it cost! Can record in the middle of the night without disturbing my 2 childs and wife, or neighbors! And in the light of the day it's a killer amp on my 4x12 cab. Beautifull clean, amazing effect loop, massive high gain sound, and midi control! And not built in Eastern Asia... Thanx Revv! You make me happy with this little monster!
I love my D20! I’m not sure of any tube amp that has the same features and is made in NA for the same price. Being able to use IRs to record silently since I live in an apartment has been a godsend as well.
I am glad to see that Revv are starting to push how good this amp sounds. One of my main hesitations with the amp was the overall tone. I heard a lot of early reviews praise the amp but not really go into detail about the cleans. It kind of came off as just a neutral, uninspiring tone. However, I think the cleans sound amazing. The Two Notes is a huge plus but just as a standalone amp head for pedals, this thing is amazing.
I’m a little confused. Are we hearing Joey playing thru the D20 into a speaker cabinet or all guitar sounds coming from the internal Rev IR’s into a DAW?
Fantastic ... yes, it is expensive for just a headphone practice amp ... I am using it a lot for that, and then also for pushing a couple different cabs as well..
Can you use a cab and balanced out to the PA at the same time? I'd like to be able to run this to the front of house, but still use the cab to monitor my sound from the stage, and at least hear myself on stage.
danmar007 The amp has a Two Notes unit integrated into it, which allows for so many options for both live performance and recording. The flagship Two Notes unit costs $750. You still have the option to run the amp through a traditional speaker as well. $1200 for a 20 watt head that has built in Two Notes hardware in it is far from overpriced.
They need to make one without all the digital crap,... if I want digital I'll use a modeler. If I'm paying good money for a tube amp, I want a pure analog path with no bullschiff.
@Soilent Green It is made by us in Canada and has a lot of features, not cheap to build and distribute. :) We understand it may not be for everyone but this is in the same quality/tone/spec category as amps that cost between $1500-$3000 and those don't have the reactive loadbox or Impulse Responses. Our dealers told us we charge too little haha but we priced as low as we could. Best wishes!
@@RevvAmps I’m gonna buy one because of this video and how you answered everybody’s questions, even the ones that didn’t deserve an answer. Go Leafs Go !
Uhhh, the actual amp is all tube. It just has extra hardware included to give you options for recording at home, or if you want to play live without a speaker cabinet. You can still hook up a cab if you want.
