I'm in Australia and the interesting thing here is that the advertisements here indicate that it was supposedly developed by a technician living in Sydney. The American version of this add indicates that it was developed by a technician in California. BIG RED FLAG RIGHT THERE!
Another red flag for you my friend: In the German version of this ad they claim that this thing was developed by a German engineer in Hamburg :D This is sooo weird :D
I am an electronic engineer by trade mainly in the area of RF microwave. When I first saw this advert I immediately knew it was BS and reported it to RU-vid as a scam. Good work on this. ❤
And I'm not at all scientific and also knew it was BS. Basically if something seems too good to be true and you've not seen it in the news or reviewed on a legitimate site then it IS too good to be true.
@@Ras6200 Yep spot on. But even an obvious scam gains a level of credibility when it's hosted on something like youtube. RU-vid seemingly do zero checking of fake scam adverts so long as they get paid.
Why doesn't someone get off their as and make something that uses the internet and picks up over the air signals. And then place it online free after you buy the unit. 😮
@@davidpantoja676 but Andrew gradusted top of his class, from the best university in his country and all he wants is to help the community. Why cant you accept that?
Yes, I thought that, and also in the UK ad they keep talking about “cable”… hardly anyone actually has cable in the UK, we’re all on satellite or fibre!
I been flagging as a scam to youtub but they keep ignoring reports of scams and running the ad to collect the buckeroos. Disgraceful - regulate big tech.
Same for me. I'm sick of these companies peddling useless junk nobody needs. A literwl paper clip will work in a pinch. Electrically, a paper clip would be better suited as a Bluetooth antenna, but several TV RU-vidrs have demonstrated that it will work.
ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS… Guess what advert was just shown to me half way thru your video !!!! Yep Rewave! Like others have said, the advert in the UK has a British voice over, Andy is from London and he was offered 2.7M POUNDS not dollars.
A friend of mine in rural Wisconsin got this because she thought it would improve her reception of all the local over the air channels, and some channels in Illinois. It was worse. Only half the channels came in. She said her outdoor tower antenna received more channels than this piece of junk. She said don't be a sucker and get taken like she did. Get an a good quality outdoor tower antenna and you will be better off. Especially if you are cutting the cable. She only wishes she could have seen your video before.
I have had this same ad in Australia (today) and the voice over says "Andy" is an Australian as opposed to the US version I saw over there. I saw it as a scam as the rest still talked about "cable" tv when we don't have that.
Another RU-vidr (WNY Over The Air) bought one of these TV antennas & tested it out in 2 locations (Buffalo, NY & Miami, FL) & compared the results against those that he got using a paperclip to pick up the same over the air TV stations in both places & the paperclip actually got similar to somewhat better results than this antenna & at a much cheaper price. He also cracked open the TV antenna to see what is in it & it's not much. The video is called "Hands On REVIEW: The WaveMax\Rewave TV Antenna Review: Is It Legit?" Also there are other TV antenna manufacturers that are more reputable, like Televes which has been around for decades.
Cable and satellite channels are not over-the-air channels. The major networks have airwave transmission stations, and there are unaffiliated local channels, but cable channels can only be received via cable (or satellite like Directv) services that you must pay for.
What's hilarious is I just saw this ad which has the exact same "Cable Operator" except it says in Vancouver. So they are just setting up multiple VOs and swapping the media based on location for their ads.
What baloney, that little indoor antenna is not going to get most OTA signals at best, and you would have to have the intelligence of a rabbit to buy this “device”.
im from Australia and there is a similar ad on youtube that I have seen claiming the exact same story and the device looks exactly the same but claims it was invented by some Australian guy instead of an American guy.
I bought 1 from eBay £6.99 for the van, it works just like it should do for all the free channels and NON of the CR4P he's talking about. IT'S an JUST a aierial the same thing you can get from the £ shop ....
I don’t know why I got this ad. I’ve indicated to RU-vid to block this ad and it says I shouldn’t see it whenever I’m logged in, but I keep seeing it. As soon as these types of ad start, it’s clear it’s a scam to sell a product that doesn’t live up to the advertising. No doubt it’s shipped from China and, to get the 30 day money back guarantee, it needs to be returned to China, at your cost.
A good product sells by itself through word of mouth. Beware when they start giving you sales pitches. A tiny home antenna will give you access to a few local channels.
I honestly have no idea how there is no regulation for misleading ads on RU-vid. Also - and this makes me want to puke - RU-vid demonetises videos for swearing, saying the word "gun" or "kill", and yet this TRASH is allowed. I don't get it.
It’s always a person who came up with whatever and other parties trying to shutdown or prevent that invention/product being being available to the public
Wouldn't be so irritating, but this is an incredibly poor antenna too. The $30 RCA antenna at walmart probably works better, and no need to wait for shipping. If you're quite some distance from the broadcast towers, you may need an outdoor model anyhow.
I wonder if they have multiple versions beyond just one for each nation. I won't bother to check but making it appear that the "andy" was a guy from near the likely purchaser could work.
It’s so scam , I was watching the add here in Vancouver and they said the moustache guy is from Vancouver , now in this add he is saying moustache guy is from California 😤🤬
Are they actually selling these things? It’s interesting that they try to appeal to cable users in the UK even though cable is very rare in the UK where satellite is much more common.
Yeah that was a super scammy mention. With this stuff coming from Lithuania, I guess they figure no one is ever going to try to investigate them. However, I kind of get the feeling that while some of this might be coming from Lithuania, there's probably a guy in the U.S. helping to make a lot of this happen. Just a guess. Thanks for watching.
That RF cable is below industry standard. If this "guy" who broke the code was an engineer, why inferior cable? Even the connector is not pro industry standard.
The distance it claims is not going to work over the ocean lol. I'm in Australia. There is no way a small antenna like that can broadcast that vast distance.
Air TV is limited for reception due to directional line of sight radius or distance from the transmitter TV station. You have to rotate the antenna for direction toward the Transmitting station and many times have to boost the signal. It is what it is. Subscriptions are paid for TV. Rewave ad is not completely truthful, however if you mix it with internet Sling basic or Sling 2, or ROKU TV, then you have to pay for the IP internet costs monthly and you can get the local OTA stations as well as the streaming 100 to 1000 stations for the cost of internet. Also, SLING requires a cell phone for setup installation..
What I find amusing, and obviously false, is all the "commercials" that use scare tactics. Stuff like, the special will not last long, or that someone is trying to close them down- so act now!
I've viewed the exact ad as commented upon here by Julian Liles featuring "Andy" but in the ad I was subjected too, ol mate "Andy" was a good ol ocka Aussie, me ol "china plate" (rhyming Australian slang meaning "mate"} if you will, who was, apparently, a savvy cable technician from Sydney, NSW, Australia!! Yes that's right, so I'm in!!!!! How could one possibly resist signing up with when "Andy" is both a dinky di Aussie battler and a Seppo cable dude, at the same time and in the same ad...... Cooooome oooon, fair dinkum, struth, get amongst it!! I'm goin to grab my credit card just after I throw another shrimp on the barby. (BTW no Australian has ever thrown a shrimp on a barby either for that matter, and don't come the raw prawn with me on this.
(I think I ended up on this video and your channel - will probably subscribe - after previously getting the British version of the ad on a video on one of my usual channels and thinking it seemed scammy).
An ad for deefocus (revolutionary glasses) right in the middle of your video about another scam. Why won't youtube do something about the number of scam ads on their site?
I wish youtube would get rid of these ads. My grandparents keep calling me to buy these things. Then they keep asking me to apply for free money from those ads using AI voice and celebs.
Yeah yeah yeah, Who the bloody hell are you Andy? A ghost in every country🤣 Show your true self. You must have seen yourself in these scam adv many times over. Thanks Jordan.
A lot of people are cutting the cable. With a real antenna, you can get a lot of stations in most cities. Using a real antenna, I get over 100 channels. Among them is PBS and all the major networks and a lot of smaller networks like ones that run old movies and TV programs. A real antenna is worth the bother for most people. The scams exist because the real thing exists. BTW: A paperclip will likely work better as an antenna for you.
Just saw this by accident in Australia when my RU-vid Premium logged out for a minute. Is this what my friends & family are seeing? LOL but also sad. "CUTTING EDGE CHIP!!!" Amazing, now tell me who this genius inventor is. "Turned the TV industry upside down", yep he literally removed the revenue for an entire industry, checks out.
How ironic that the ad I saw during this viseo was for " Off-Grid Generator,,,Odd Little Device Kills Energy Bills and Generates Power On Demand " . It has so many red flags collectively , its basically a RED FLAG itself . LMAO
great video i saw the same ad and i thought about buying a couple of them just something about it didnt pass the sniff test glad i didnt buy these pieces of junk
This exposure of the ReWave TV scam was interrupted by another YT scam advert for a 'revolutionary & corporate toppling' thumb drive, (it is just like any other USB RAM stick that has been sold from every electronics shelf on Earth for the last 15 years, but probably with 'FREE!!!' trashing junkware apps installed. ;-O
It's funny, that while watching this video.... the REVAWE AD is coming on😂😂😂😂 Oh...and btw....the Ai voiceover sounds like a younger Morgan Freeman. Even his accent is the same. No?
It´s very interesting, by 1:55 is said, that an employee in california would have invented this stuff. By us in the german speaking vision of RU-vid is said that an employee in Hamburg Germany would have invented it - a real first class proof that this stuff is a case of criminal fraud! So everybody around the world I pleased to you not to buy this trash and save your money!
lol the funny thing is this is the first time i've seen this advert on youtube ( i bought a nixie tube clock from ali and it has a how to video ) then i've been spammed by this video (not your video the rewave one ), which is really odd because i went to the aforemention video before and never saw the advert 😵💫
