My 1995 sit-down with a somewhat tired Joe Don Baker for "GoldenEye." We talked about that movie, plus the movies, "Junior Bonner, "Cool Hand Luke," and "Walking Tall."
I taught Joe Don Baker was very good for the 4 episodes he appeared in for In the heat of the night in 1989.It's a pity he wasn't keep on for more episodes he could of been a huge success in that roll as Police Captain Tom Dugan.
@@PhilMoskowitz He was perfect for that roll in the Heat of the Night he played he had great chemistry i taught with Buba AKA Alan Autry for them 4 episodes he deserved way more appearances on the show i think. What happended to Joe Don Baker in the Heat of the Night was very similar to what happended to Joe Don Baker's co-star in the James Bond 007 Living Daylights two years before in 1987 Timothy Dalton only got to appear twice as James Bond 007 he should have appeared in more 007 movies after 1989.
an actor from each of the 3 Walking Tall films appeared in Cool Hand Luke. Joe Don Baker (Walking Tall), Luke Askew (Part 2 : Walking Tall) and Morgan Woodward (Walking Tall : The Final Chapter. Also both actors who played Obra Eaker (Felton Perry from the first film and Robert Doqui from Part 2) appeared in Robocop together. They even had scenes together.
Was in a movie called the killing time which stared a young Kiefer Sutherland also Kiefers first wife Camilla Kath which they got together making the film and Beau bridges also a movie that I felt was very underated
My favorite movie he was in is "Charlie Varick" with Walter Mathau and Andy Robinson. Joe Don played one of the most believable sociopaths ever. The character was happy in his work.......... Jo Don was sooooo good.
