Richard Petty at 34 becomes the second ever four time champion

Notable: Bobby Allision won 11 races in 1971, but missing 5 races. So he would have been a legitimate competitor for Petty. BTW: Petty still missed one race this seaon at Middle Georgia Speeway. (James Hylton, Elmo Langley and Cecil Gordon missed it, too.)
1971? I think not. King Richard turned the clock back to 1967. Also Hylton doing a winless chase of a champion with a 'P' starting their last name, again. Some things never change.
