From 'My Fair Lady' (1964) a musical film adaptation of the Lerner and Loewe stage musical of the same name, based on the 1938 film adaptation of the original stage play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw. The film was directed by George Cukor and starred Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison.
The film won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director.

El Profesor Higgins dicta una cátedra callejera de correcto inglés al Coronel Pickering y a un grupo de varios floristas y vendedores en una plaza londinense y de paso comenta las zancadillas vocales de Eliza Doolittle, la florista a la que piensa reeducar y convertir en una dama en un lapso de seis meses, aunque el coronel Pickering no se muestra muy convencido.

I think it was also well timed with the lyrics “why can’t the English learn to set a good example…” Professor Higgins was shown throughout the movie as an egocentric, rude, careless individual who treats other people as things for his use and amusement. This was our first introduction to his character…and they didn’t waste a moment. The irony is that he’s lecturing others (and Eliza in particular) to be proper. His behaviour is so wretched that I’d name him the villain. It’s only the supposed “comedy” of his behaviour that barely saves the character from that end.
