Rex is a Jet. He said it himself and there is no reason to doubt him. I'd give him another shot at it just for the pure fact that he WANTS to be there, and not there just to collect a paycheck like our last 3 HC Look. Even if you don't hire him as a HC, hire him as your DC. He's going to bring a passion that will resonate to the players.
As the Jets fan, and knowing in my lifetime of being a Jets fan, Rex is the only coach every player Rally's behind and so does all the fans. From that perspective he's the best coach the Jets have had in recent memories
Rex Ryan as a coach would be great. I would want to see who he brought with him on the offensive side of the ball, as that would be a big determining factor for me. I think that he could even be asked to keep Coach Brick on and help him learn to coach as an interim coach. He would get rid of that locker room entitlement pretty quick, and the locker room was horrific under Saleh, leading back to Gase. Pretty much since Ryan we haven't had a good locker room.
One thing about Rex is....HE IS A JET! The other guys know they are just here almost going thru the motions (keeping receipts) until the next gig. Rex bleeds green. The difference between him and everybody else is he is ONE OF US! Jet Fan. Get him a modern day OC that knows how to run and maybe he can copy build a team like Detroit did. They pound it and play good D
@@charzard1000 nope Rex Ryan my friend I was there to witness his shortcomings at the end including the great addition of Tim tebow 😅 loved rex but unfortunately he isn't the answer to our problems instead of putting band aids over our problems how about we actually put some concrete plans ahead and build some stability for the first time in this sorry organisation.
Rex is the kind of coach we need but he needs to come with a truly brilliant offensive coordinator. The reason he didn’t go all the way the last time was his lack of having an inventive offensive play schemer/ play caller.
I think Rex saying now that he has experience he knows that he will only be as good as the coaches around him speaks volume. I’m curious to see how he would build a staff the 2nd time around.
How many people actually want to come and coach us? Give him the job! We had success under him and we actually built a culture and identity. No more of this players coach nice guy bs.
Coaching doesn’t feel like the main culprit here. There’s a lot of organizational dysfunction that starts right at the top. It’s like watching Al Davis run the raiders in the mid 2000s. Except at least he was actually a football mind.
@@lamontthurman9227It didn't work out the first time. His tenure didn't work in Buffalo. It ain't working here. Your issue is the owner. Until he is gone, you will continue to be a failure and no coach, GM or QB will save you.
@@beefy1728 I have been in youtube comments for over a month (and tbh since week 2 probably) pleading that Jets bring in Gruden, who should bring in Rex as DC... it is the ONLY way out of this disaster! GRUDEN/REX '24!!!!
@@JerboFotius Yeah, but none of these coaching changes are going to matter unless they have at least 2 kickers who can kick a field goal from at least 56 yards out in any weather condition. It will be up to them to breathe hot air in the ear of the GM and Woody to pay up and structure the team so that they can retain 2 kickers or at least figure out a way to make it happen. Drafting one of those kickers wouldn't be a bad idea at all. Jets need their Adam Vinatieri. There's no way around it. Parcells is a smart coach. He got Adam Vinatieri for the Pats and signed John Hall to the Jets. The difference between the Jets being 6-2, 5 - 3, or 4 - 4 right now is solely on the kicker, despite the other issues. If the kicker does his job Saleh would still be the head coach now 😂😂😂. As strange as it sounds that's what it is.
Sadly, from all the pro "Rex Ryan for Head Coach" comments I can assess that Jets' fans are too accustomed to the culture of losing. As a fan that watched the years of Rich Kotite, Bill Parcells, Al Groh, Herm Edwards, and Eric Mangini I know the difference between a winning franchise and a losing franchise and Rex Ryan's arrival was the beginning of the end of an almost 12-year winning culture with multiple playoff appearances. Rex Ryan inherited a team molded and built by Eric Mangini. Rex Ryan didn't build much from scratch except for bringing a few Ravens defensive players over for those two AFC Championships. Mangini held those players accountable, he made those players run laps in practice if they missed their blocking assignments or caused penalties - which are two factors why the Jets are suffering now. Parcells would give an earful to players returning to the sideline after causing a penalty. Rex Ryan didn't do any of that. Rex Ryan just let failing players continue to fail. It was a systemic break down of organization and discipline, and the offense would feel it way more than the defense. To put things into perspective here when Rex had to rebuild the team Geno Smith failed. Geno Smith went to the playoffs with the Seahawks in 2022 and was accepted to the Pro Bowl in 2022 and 2023.
Bring back Rex period 🔥🔥🔥🔥 he got us to AFC chips back to back and the pats would have not got a late TD on us period he would had a all out blitz to stop that
@@kh894 aging O line and a QB that cant carry a bad roster. Its not rocket science. only so much talent to go around in pro football. this happens to every team that doesnt have an atleast average QB / O line
The only reason we got the offensive pieces we wanted this year is because we let go of our defensive line. JFM, Bryce Huff, and Quinton all got ~10mil this year. So it was either we get Williams, adams, Moses, Simpson, t smith and Adams, or we stick with the stout Def line. Either way, the coaches werent coaching, just calling plays
Yeah maybe. At this point though, what do we have to lose? This whole regime is going to end badly. Arguably, ending worse than it did with Rex. I want to see him interviewed at the very least.
being from Buffalo i think this is a great idea and i hope they hire him immediately without even interviewing another coach. Woody should get on that, wouldn't want another team snatching him up...
I like Rex. He has his faults but the qualities he could bring to this team now are a plus. I’d wait until the season is over. If Rex comes back Aaron has to be gone because Rex isn’t gonna kiss his but over anything.
Nope Rex will want him. He wanted Favre when he first came and Favre wanted Minnesota. If he got Favre to come back we would have won the Super Bowl. He will want Aaron but will Aaron want him ?
Definitely give the job to Rex, he will bring some fire to the team. Who also would want the Job. He’s not perfect, but he is passionate about the Jets.
The fact that Rex bleeds Green and wants to come back makes him an option but his lack of vision for the offensive side of the ball makes him a liability just like before and since he's been gone.
@ the 2:15 point in this video, I'm going to make my point as to why Rex Ryan should once again become the HC of the Jets again, because of the passion, and the energy and the respect that he commands from his players, is unmatched compared to the previous coaches, and this is the main point that I was to emphasize, George steinbrenner understood the passion and fire that Billy Martin brought to the Yankees, that's why he was willing to rehire him several times, and the Jets should take a page out of George steinbrenner's book on how to become a winning franchise, and as usual go loosing-ass Jets from Detroit.
I Believe that Rex has Learned from previous mistakes and even though he has'nt coached or given a chance to coach again, but Rex will Bring Back the New York TOUGHNESS and Discipline that we REALLY NEED!!
I don't know about a round 2 of Ryan. I need new blood. Mike Vrabel is one of my guys i wanna see with the Jets. Ryan inherited Mangini's team. He started building a team that Ryan got. He's all mouth..
I don’t think we have a choice. No one else wants to come here and Woody never gives the big bucks for a proven coach. Ryan coming back wouldn’t hurt. I think the worse this team could get is if we brought Gase back.
There are better coaches the Jets can get. The expiration date on Rex ran out a long time ago. Jets fans are over-reacting as usual and acting crazy desperate. Go get a good coach.
I’d like an offensive head coach personally. I love Rex but those Rex teams were good but undisciplined too. I’d like him to be a d coordinator, sorta like a head coach of the defense. A Buddy Ryan role if you will.
Reading this a couple hours ago i was like ok maybe. But thinking about it some more i gotta be honest, how many coaches are actually gonna want to come here, rex having passion about the team is kinda what we need
You can't tell me that if Rex was our HC right now that we wouldn't be better record wise and culture wise. Even Rex last game as our HC the players played hard for him and didn't want him gone, that is what we need now more then ever
Saleh was defensive minded and passionate. Keep Brick to focus on defense as he did successfully before (or did he need Saleh?) and bring in an offensive mind? Something to be said for discipline and accountability, but an offensive head coach could also possess those qualities. Successful teams in the modern NFL seem to have an offensive head coach
Rex went to complete shit after his first two years, he puts his players on a pedestal. He also rode the roster Mangini created and then did absolutely nothing after that for us or Buffalo, he should not be a HC again. But mark my words if Woody is our owner next year he will do this, its got "same old jets" written all over it.
A big reason Rex and his brother are out of football is their Daddy's playbook is out of date. Teams learned how to deal with it. And he has nothing new. Think about that.
Rex ryan didnt develop one player as a coach.. he just plays veterans. also play a 3-4 defense, which would mean a complete reboot.. also, his teams also committed alot of penalties as well. we need to move forward not backwards
I dont believe it will happen. But I would love to bring back Rex Ryan. I believe towards the end, the jets were rebuilding, and they wanted a new voice. We had success under Rex. He could hire an OC to run the offense. He held player accountable, which is a problem now, apparently. The jets just need some consistency that's what all the good times have.
I mean you answered your question in here. The solution to getting a steady offense is hiring an offensive minded head coach. That way there’s no more revolving door at OC…also if we’re cleaning house and starting over. I would definitely be more comfortable with Ryan as dc
I am totally for Rex Ryan getting that job! When he was their coach the team had way more energy when they played. He just needs a very good play caller (OC)
Rex did not have a disciplined team lol. He was great cheerleading the talent the first 2 years. Then it got really ugly. That said. I love Rex and love that he loves the Jets. No one will wanna come here especially if they fire JD. The league knows Woody is clueless and irrational. A deadly combination. So Rex may be the best option. I don't know anymore. You know he's already talking to Woody.
Ben Johnson is the play, now I wouldn’t mind him being defensive coordinator in such a scenario but I doubt its probable but also looking how vangio is sirrianis DC also could possibly play this dream into account. I feel like Ben Johnson would hire Rex as his DC if given the chance, MAYBE. Regardless he should be in the building maybe just not Head Coach 🙂↔️
I say yes, he was the no frills head coach, who 14 years ago Brought us so close to a championship. His attitude is blunt, & right to the point. If he wants his old job back at this point what do the Jets have to lose. Time is running short, do it before it's too late 💪👍
hey ian , it's fun to think about , but nothing will change this year , but if you are talking about next year , ryan coaching is a possibility , and BE IT KNOWN THAT REX WILL BRING DISCIPLINE AND ACCOUNTABILITY TO ANY TEAM HE COACHES , WIN LOSE OR DRAW ,current jets have none, i like it ,defensive coord. is more realistic than H.C. tho , jets still need new H.C.
Bring Back Rex 🏈 .. we haven’t been relevant in a decade 1️⃣0️⃣ Under Rex - We Were Relevant ‘ We Were Competitive ( 2012-2014 ) the roster was absolutely garbage - Woody gave rex oranges and expected him to make lemonade ( Antonio Allen a 7th round CB - out of SC was playing starting FS his Rookie year - like give Rex a break already
What I think we need starts from the upper management. New blood at GM, maybe Louis Reddick, start talking to people from well run organizations see if we can get Ozzie Newsome outta retirement, get someone tht has interest in his team, maybe a former player someone like Mangold. Talk to new blood & business minded people. I like Dominique Foxworth, & new coaches. This is SOO SICKENING how our football season is over by wk 8!
