OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!! I am never going to get over this video!!! It's one of your best! I mean, I could never rank your videos, because every single one is brilliant. It would physically hurt me to even try to rank them. But this one is really special. I love Snow Patrol so much for similar reasons as M&S (whom you also vid extremely well), because their songs pack an emotional punch and build to a brilliant crescendo! In my mind that makes it extremely hard to actually make a video that can live up to the epicness of the songs. But YOU!!! You do it every time. I'm always awed by the way you are able to capture the tone so perfectly during the slower and also the more climactic moments of these powerful songs!! With a lot of vidders, it's one or the other, but you are the whole package!! Gah!! Right from the beginning "Please don't let this turn into something it's not" with "Don't do this, Ben" and Rey's disappointment in things not going exactly the way she envisioned them. Amazing! "I can only give you everything I've got" JFC!!! Not only Ben offering her his hand AGAIN with everything that entails, but he is literally giving his life for her. THE PAIN IS REAL!!! Be prepared...I am going to list almost every lyric, because you matched everything THAT flawlessly!!! "I can't be as sorry as you think I should" Damn that hits so hard!!! Rey not having the whole picture of why Ben killed Han and him just taking her judgment without really explaining it. Jesus. This video!!!! "I still love you more than anyone else could" THIS LINE!!! YES!!! Ben loves Rey so fully and completely because he KNOWS her. "You come from nothing. You're nothing. But not to me" The way he tells her that it doesn't matter that she is not a legacy...that to him she doesn't have to be the "last Jedi", the perfect heroine...Just Rey from nowhere is not just ENOUGH for him, but she is EVERYTHING to him!! Wow. You really captured that so well. I can't stop myself from crying through this whole video!!! Dude I actually screamed when I got to the "It could take my whole damn life to make this right" moment!!! YOU ARE A FREAKING GENIUS!!! THERE IS NO WAY ANYONE ELSE WAS GONNA OWN THIS LINE THE WAY YOU DID!!! The broken look on Ben's face after he kills his father and the way Rey helps him realize what he needs to do to start to heal and make it better..."I know what I have to do" I mean DAMN LADY!!! That part just REALLY gets me. "The splintered mast I'm holding on won't save me long" I love that you used the mask and the light saber, basically the two things that sort of define him as "Kylo Ren" for that part. Especially the way he was gripping the light saber so tightly and hiding behind the mask...it just shows the way he would cling to the dark side thinking that was the thing that would save him from the pain, but his heart was so much in the light that his spirit was split to the bone, as Snoke says. Just brilliant editing from you! "Because I know fine well that what I did was wrong" OMG YET ANOTHER SCREAM!!! My brother was asleep when I first watched this video. I'm surprised I didn't wake him up with all my screaming, crying, and general gushing. lol but seriously I love that you showed the scene of Rey reacting to Ben calling himself a monster (I say it every time, but real monsters do not admit to being monsters) and flashing to Han's death!! Gah!!! This is so immaculate. I never could have even pictured that sequence done even half as heartbreakingly epic as you did it!!! "Who is she" right before "the last girl, the last reason to make this last for as long as I can"!! OMG!!! I don't know why but I just really adore that. Asking who Rey is and the answer being that she is the one who is going to change his entire life and make him want to fight to be better...Holy hell dude!! And especially showing the scene of his face when she calls the light saber and he is just in awe of her...GOD!! And then Ben literally running to Rey and HER FACE in awe when she sees that he turned and showed up for her!!! I CANNOT BREATHE THIS VIDEO IS EVERYTHING WONDERFUL IN THE WORLD!!! And I also really think it's smart that you used some of their fight scenes in the "make this last for as long as I can" because it kind of felt like Ben was keeping the fight going because he just wanted to connect to Rey and didn't think he could do that in any other way. Not sure if you even meant it like that, but I love it none the less!!! Poor dysfunctional baby!! OF COURSE "the first kiss" moments!!!! So beautiful!!! "The first time that I felt connected to anything" JFC!!! I love your use of the hand touching scene for those lines. It really feels like the first time either of them really felt that kind of connection and like they found someone who could really SEE them and understand them!!! And I love the voice over of "We're a dyad in the force Rey" for the second time this line comes up!!! "The weight of water" I really love water symbolism. Probably because I am such a typical Pisces! haha so I love that it was the ocean Rey was seeing in her dreams and that it ties in with Ben. Loved your use of the force bond in TLJ and the tidal wave in TROS!! "They way you taught me to look past everything I have ever learned" Eep!!! You showed how they BOTH challenge each other. I love that you used the scene of Ben pushing Rey to let go of her past as well as Rey pushing Ben not to give up on himself!! I also cannot get over that you used the "Ben" lines for "The final word in the final sentence you ever uttered to me was love"!!! MY HEART IS GOING TO BURST!!! Especially the way you combined the three people who loved Ben the most and just the way Rey can see him for who he truly is and that is pretty much the definition of LOVE!!! I AM SO EMOTIONAL. YOU'RE KILLING ME!!!! And the greatest smile in the history of smiles over the line "love" YES. Ben finally knew what it was to be loved. I won't go into the fact that this should not have lasted only 20 seconds...grr...lol And now we enter the "please just save me from this darkness" portion!!! I was SO excited for that when I saw that you used this song!! And of course, you did not disappoint!!! I love that for the instrumental leading up to it you used the line from Leia "There's still light in him, I know it". That set up for all the moments of Rey saving Ben from the darkness so impeccably!!! AND OMG I love the fact that you used that shot of Ben and Han on the bridge with Rey looking on from above!! There is a ton of symbolism that can be drawn from that tiny shot. We literally see a bright light that seems to originate with Rey and shine down to Ben. He is at the very end of it, but it shows that he is still in fact, in the light. And not only that, but Rey is a big source of light for him!!! Then following that, you showed him reaching up and the far away shot of him hobbling through pain and injury to get to Rey...his light...that is seriously powerful imagery!!! GOD!! I don't know what to even do with you and your intelligence and talent!! I guess just look at you in awe like these two idiots look at each other! lol The first "please just save me from this darkness" with the way he is looking up at her in that moment...the sorrow, regret, desperation all over his face...silently begging her not to go...I QUIT. I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE. I KNOW I AM ALMOST AT THE END BUT THERE ARE TOO MANY FEELS!!! /SOBBING ALL OVER THE KEYBOARD/ And I KNEW you would have that desperate "please" voice over in there too...I knew it and was prepared for it....OR SO I THOUGHT!!! lol it still hit me like a damn freight train!!! "I don't know where to look" Okay wow the scene of Ben holding Rey's dead body and looking around for help that wasn't there...like...that really hurts!!!! And the devastation in his eyes as he hugs her...I hope you know you are breaking me. I don't even know what to say at this point!!! "You're not alone" "neither are you" with them reaching out to each other!! So sweet!!! And the last shot!! The look of pure joy and relief and LOVE on Ben's face!!! She saved him from the darkness and he saved her too. MY HEART!!!!! Okay if this looooong comment doesn't make it utterly obvious, I REALLY adore this video. I have watched it so many times already and it has the same emotional impact each time. You are just so great at capturing the essence of this beautiful ship and making us feel every single emotion over and over in a fresh new way each time. You know how I said your Reylo videos are my drug of choice? Well, you got me SO high today. lol xD Seriously, this was incredible. I literally had to map out each second of it and tell you how much I love it, because you deserve to know just how magnificent your art is!!! I am so so so grateful for you making these masterpieces!! Oh and I love you more than I could ever express, even in an essay comment like this!!!
