I don’t understand how people don’t see the romantic tension between the two.

Bens death was last minute. They actually didn’t even film anything about him dying.For example it wasn’t really Ben falling backwards after the kiss. It was originally Rey pulling him upwards but they put it in reverse, you can tell by Rey’s shoulders, they are going upwards instead of downwards when he falls. Ben was also supposed to be in the sunset scene at the very end. Rey was in the same position before and after the sun set. They just edited out the lightsaber in her hand. I really wish they just kept it how it was supposed to be

well there’s been several theories about ben coming back. i think my favorite was that the planet exegol is a planet connected to the world between worlds (also how palpatine came back) which in the clone wars, ahsoka dies on the planet mortis which is connected to the world between worlds. they’re basically stuck there just like as if it was the soul stone from avengers. anakin uses the life force to bring her back and they both live. i think i also saw something about future films in 2022, 2024, and 2026. i hope in this they possibly show a new generation of jedi as rey as the teacher and in one of the books she has, she finds out ab the world between worlds and those who are stuck there and she attempts to bring him back.

their story is just something beautiful, i truly think they should have had a future. i feel like disney should’ve kept ben alive and have them have a happy future together. after they kiss bens smile is just so happy. rey finally showed him how to be happy. he felt happiness for the first time in his life. he didn’t deserve to die. rey doesn’t deserve to suffer because she just got ben back and now he’s gone. disney shouldn’t have done this.

Luke also died. Leia died. So Ben is last Skywalker and he also had to died? I know this should be the movie closing Skywalker line, but Star Wars (movies) is Skywalker. It is disturbing how some people genuinely believe rey and ben were in "love". Despite barely knowing each other and their relationship being portrayed as family by jj Abrams in interviews. Yet one kiss of gratitude that was just fan service(from the canon novel, I ain't just making that up) is enough to fuel this obsession. Fanfics and fanart are way out of proportion from what actually happened in the movies and the shippers are very deluded

I could hardly bear to watch their final scene. I had deliberately avoided all reviews of TROS so as not to have it ruined by spoilers. So I’m sitting there thinking “OMG - NO! You can’t kill Rey!!” Well they killed Ben instead and I can’t get over it. I know on many levels he deserved to pay for his sins (I mean, the man killed HAN SOLO, for God’s sake) but despite all I was longing for a happy ending to their Pride and Prejudice romance. He redeemed himself by dying for his Love, but still .... 😭😭
