In a nutshell this replaces your video switch & creates a passthrough to an HDMI output as an analog tuner then? (Like an old VCR would). Really surprised no one has come up with a simple box to go from RFin to RCA out (I see the elimination of the RCA on many sets as well so may be a future issue) Still have my Atari Video Pinball, Stunt Cycle, Magnavox Odyssey 2, & Coleco Gemini, all close to mint in boxes, reason for my research..
Can you use this device to run cable thru it? Normally without any cable box. If you plugged the cable directly in the TV from the wall. You can get some channels running. If you can use this thing to run cable with it. You can upscale the TV stations to 4k if merged with a 4k Gamer Pro. It's been a while sinced I use a VCR but I remember clearly you could use the VCR as a cable box as well.
PAL VCR with RF TO HDMI and HDMI TO COMPONENT (480p or 576p for CRT) adapter for bigger CRTs and flstscreen TVs (50Hz or 60Hz, 720p and 1080i and 1080p)
OK, do you really need all of this if your TV still tunes over the air frequencies why don’t you just hook it up and use channel 3 or 4 to view your game? so you’re putting another tuner in front of the TV tuner just so you can plug it into HDMI? I mean, I haven’t bought a new TV in a minute but all the TVs I have still tune over the air channel 3 and 4. At least advise people to try it before they spend the money for this.
@@SVT512 so how do you watch over the air television on this TV, since you’re calling it a TV. Sounds like it is more like a monitor?? sounds like this was a good fit for RF inputs anyway!
It has a built in digital antenna, no external input for one. Mainly only has HDMI inputs for other devices, no RF input. Its one of these - www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-55-class-tu8300-curved-led-4k-uhd-smart-tizen-tv/6424751.p?skuId=6424751. I mainly picked up this device to be able to capture RF consoles to my Computer instead of using the RF to USB tv tuner stick I had been using. Gives a better picture plus gives me the opportunity to play the games on my big TV in the front room :P.
@@TheSquaredM 'TV' is a colloquial term these days. He's not watching 'over the air' anything. A 'TV' these days is simply a very large monitor, often with built-in CPU that can run Roku/Amazon Prime/Netflix etc. software, with a remote control (which PC monitors never have) but they don't have analogue tuners any longer. It's a 'TV' because it's too big to fit on a desk to use with a personal computer, but yes, technically, it's what YOU would call a 'monitor', but with the ability to run 'TV'-type streaming software without an additional PC connected to it.
