Doujin circles are a whole rabbit hole to climb into. ICDDs guitarists Hull and KIM are behind another legendary band called Vaguedge Dies for Dies Irae, who are mostly known for their At The Gates - Blinded by fear X Tohou mesh-up "Blinded By Vampires Sorrow". Dope Melo Death with electronic influences. There are some other great bands like Thousand Swords, who later turned into a "real" Melo Death band called Thousand Eyes. One of the most unique circles was Silent Difference, who only released one album called "Belial". While most doujin/touhou circles focus on Melodic DM or Rock, they had a very unique extreme metal approach mixed with heavy Visual Kei (especially Dir En Grey) influences. The vocal performance has some very outstanding moments with insane Kyo like whistle screams. Highly recommend to check out the title track of that record. KIM from ICDD was part of that group as well.

Yeah, there's a whole lot of stuff that came out of that. Thousand Eyes is actually really good stuff. I got into them because Kouta played guitar in Devil Within with Kensuke from Undead Corporation and Yu from MergingMoon. Next episode is going to be about another band that comes out of that whole scene, but I don't wanna spoil which...

(You dont say no to cheesy Power metal like Galneryus) b.) Agent 0 ( you also enjoy quirky Death Metal) or c.) Kissing The Mirror (for their pure legendary status in the doujin scene). ha ha, thanks I actually don't know either of those groups, so I'll have to check them out. I do enjoy the third Avsky with a V album a lot, bought it way back when because the guy from Craft did guest vocals on it.

ICDD and Necronomidol on the same episode? Subscribed. Also yes, ICDD is such a unique band there's nothing like it in the world, and combined with their technical ability really makes probably the most perfect band I ever heard. Its like getting a culture shock with each listen. The editing and commentary are spot on.

small correction: female vocals for ICDD's second album are all by Kimi, Kylie only did narration. And at 16:10 the vocals are actually by Aramary, a guest vocalist rather than Akira.

I see this band and VDAS as a doujin-y hot-topic version of what sigh or more outlandish shit like kokumaromilk is sorta doing. Honestly not for me but it's pretty peculiar and I see the appeal. I think it's more of a japanese melo-deathy finnish gothenburg-worship band (like wintersun) with visual-kei influences thrown in while being wrapped in a modern metal polish but you're spot on about the light black metal influences it holds. I look forward to more of your visual-kei vids.

Jesus christ. I started watching this video like a hour ago. I stopped a few minutes into the video to look up the band because I never heard of them. Then I went into a hour long rabbithole just to remember I never finished watching this video. I'm supposed to be working. I'm my own boss, but fuck god damn. Also, Yeah this band is off the rails. I know touhou, but didnt know about the video game/ band crossover. Awesome RFI, ever been to japan?

Never actually been to Japan, I just a like a lot of stuff from there. There's a lot of metal bands that do the Touhou thing. Unlucky Morpheus do a really cool power metal thing with it, and Undead Corporation used to be all about that stuff back when they were more of a melodeath band.

@@radiofreeinnsmouth1337 go to japan, rent a campervan from Camgo (bed in the back, refrigerator, cooking supplies) stay at michi no eki for free(or whatever you can afford) I had a van for 8 weeks for like $1,250. Drove around most of the country. Best thing ever. I went during winter, lucky for me it was a very mild winter. Not cold. I think that's why it was so cheap. They're opened to tourists again. I'm going back next year. Everyone I know is tired of me talking about it still. ....now I just rant about it to strangers. ✌✌🎃🎃🤘🤘
