First time for RFMF Fiji to compete for the International Defence Rugby Competition which runs in parallel with the Rugby World Cup held every four years which was hosted by England in 2015 .
Fiji seeded fourth under top seed Royal Navy, New Zealand and Japan in their Pool. After winning all their game,Fiji moved on to meet neighboring Australia in the quaters, France in the semis and eventually The British Army with a convincing 20 points win to take the IDRC to the Islands.
