Interesting video. I wish I could have understood Italian but I got the general idea of what you were doing. I saw some of your replies to comments in English. I bought two sets of these shocks for two 125cc Hodaka dirt bikes, one is in my profile photo and another one like it. The shocks I bought are 320mm eye to eye, the pair you show in your video look like the 340mm shocks. I really needed 340mm length but the 340mm ones came with 8mm thick springs while the 320mm ones are 7 or 7.10mm(?) thickness and I thought they should be light enough for these lightweight bikes. The 20mm difference in length can be adjusted by replacing the lower removable mounting with ones 20mm longer like the ones on the shocks in your video and I can get them on eBay no problem. I also noticed the 360mm shocks are basically the same shock but with an even longer interchangeable lower mounting eye and also use the lighter 7.10 springs. As I said I can't understand Italian but if you were just trying to "soften" the shocks could the ones with 7mm or 7.10mm springs have been adequate or was there another reason for your modification?
I honestly don't remember the diameter of my spring wire, if 8 or 7 mm. Surely the goal was to make them softer even if then, in the following years, while keeping my modification, I gave some preload turns using the ring nuts. Regarding the lower removable these are certainly replaceable and it is also easy to build new ones. If anything, remember to put the threadlocker when you put them back (it happened to me they were unscrewed). Thanks for the comment and for watching!

Ciao Stefano, in linea del tutto teorica dovrebbero funzionare bene. Molto dipende da come hanno riempito di olio l'ammortizzatore: se hanno lasciato delle bolle d'aria (e l'aria va in alto) potrebbe esserci il rischio che il pompante lavori a vuoto. Non ho esperienze specifiche sugli RFY montati al contrario..... vero è che in passato ho visto altri ammortizzatori montati con il serbatoio gas sotto. Grazieper la visione!

Hi, these shock absorbers are definitely not suitable for professional use such competition or heavy duty on work vehicles. In my opinion, however, are valid solution for occasional uses like custom bike or recreational vehicles. Thanks for watching 👍👍

Hoontato questi ammortizzatori sul mio scooter da solo sono un po duri in viaggio con bauletti e sovraccarico supero i 250 chili e forse dovro stringere
Buongiorno, gli ammortizzatori arrivano pronti da montare. Che poi dentro ci sia gas o aria non so dire, non ho mai aperto la parte idraulica. Grazie per la visione!
@@lorenzolerino bisognerebbe vederli ma se il problema è che tornano su troppo lentamente il problema non è che siano scarichi è che sono troppo carichi! Credo infatti che il problema derivi dal fatto che l'olio sia scadente e che col freddo si sia addensato, tipo grasso. Considera che in Cina del sud fa sempre un gran caldo e loro non si rendono conto dell'oliaccio che ci mettono dentro.
Si, ovviamente più le stringi più diventano dure. Io sono un privato e non vendo nulla. Solo condivido le mie esperienze sperando possano essere utili ad altri. Prova a cercare un tornitore nella tua zona, non è un lavoro difficile. Ciao
These are £35 ebay specials. Why waste time modifying them, they have no ride quality whatsoever. These are just a cheap universal shock, to get you out of trouble if your originals stop working.
Hi Dean, you're right! These shocks are chinese cheap waste. But my bike is a full custom and original shocks simply doesn't exist! ...so i need to arrange in some way... Thank you for watching!

yeah i didnt want to bashh your mod i just said that the shock are junk a friend of mine put those on a 400EX and almost killed himself on a jump the shock bend on the landing !! and it was not a big jump about 4 ft in the air
In my personal opinion the rfy shocks are designed and made only for classic bike, cafè racer and some other street bike. If you use the rfy on a quad in off road use the problem is you, not the rfy. Usually people making offroad spend lots of money in professional shocks like ohlins, showa, kayaba and others similar...
