This is a really great setup and isn't a downgrade from a candy cab at all. I got a Sega Blast and I love it but it's a lot like restoring a classic car. You spend a fortune and a ton of time just maintaining it and restoring it as close to original as possible.

Really nice video. Why use Plus instead of two USB-encoders? Whats the use? Less inputlag or what?

Can you confirm that the input lag is better with rgbpi plus (USB encoder make little lag) ?

Nice build, well done! I'm particularly envious of your monitor which can easily be turned on its side and back again - a cunning external solution! I'm just using an old only TV leaning on its side in my home-made cabinet. I think I'm also using the same keyboard encoder as your original build, but my RGB Pi is the old one which doesn't auto switch to RGB unfortunately.

Indeed the Sony PVM-2130QM is a lovely display. I specially bought it for TATE gaming.

@@ChrisSkitch may I ask where you picked it up? I've been keeping an eye on auctions, but half the gear seems to be in bad condition, while bay prices can be very high...

@@DinoBytes I was lucky on Facebook Marketplace about a year ago, picked it up for £200. Just looking on eBay now can see some pretty steep prices these days.

Hi! Did you have to adjust from the service menu your tv? I have some overscan when I’m playing arcade games (fbneo core). Any other console games are fine. Is it a problem about tv or the hdmi timing in rgb pi?

Yes, I had to adjust my CRT's geometry via the service menu and even so some arcades are cut-off. This is a "feature" of arcade cores - they are a variety of resolutions. In a real arcade machine the geometry of the crt is normally adjusted whenever the gameboard is changed. The same applies to RGB-Pi. Hopefully you can find a setting on your TV that is a good balance.

@@ChrisSkitch uhm just a last question. Do you get any distortion sound or some cracking sound when emulating arcades?

@@Ononokii Not that I've noticed. Most sound perfect. The Mortal Kombat series had some issues but the new Arcade Pack 2.2 has improved this. I guess you have tried adjust the EQ settings in the RGB-Pi menus? Also don't forget there's an active community on Discord that might be able to help.

your video on archon those versions look like terds. it was released 3 years after the c64 original in 86 and they didn't do anything with it. the nes conversion later released in 89 is vastly better.
