His name is Conroy Haagensen, he is the second in command of the ECOAS Team and Daguza's right hand man, his machine is also special because its a customized Jegan D type (ECOAS Ver) for commander use. it also has both Beam Handgun which is literally Beam Desert Eagle and Dagger Knife.
it's so weird seeing the 80s mega launcher next to the modern looking ecoas jegan, it's so out of place but I want to make a gunpla custom of it anyways
Does anyone notice the theme of the Zeon "Ninja MS" vs. Londo Bell "Special Forces MS"? i.e. the ninja and special forces kinda fall into the same category, with the former being the "old" and the latter being the "new"
Conroy fighting that Zssa and that Schuzrum Gallus with the most minimal amount of weapons will never not be badass. Also felt bad for him when he was forced to shoot his comrade's Jegan after it was hijacked by the Neo Zeong. Conroy was even hesitant to kill him, by just shooting that Jegan's head, only for Riddhe to finish the job when the headless Jegan was still gonna attack Conroy.
jeez. i forgot how lowkey terrifying Neo Zeong's corruption is, imagine that being a premise of a AU gundam show. like Halo's flood, but for mobile suits
You should look up the Dark/Devil Gundam from G-Gundam if you want corruption. That's some straight up zombie shit. But yeah Zeongs trick is major mind screw. Because you know your friend in the other machine isn't doing it, they're a prisoner, but their cage is trying to kill you.
well, Angello Saupper was lucky because that Ecoas Jegan didnt use the max output of mega bazooka launcher since conroy haggen wanted to keep it from overheating as long as possible, so angello can still manage to dodge with slight move. lets imagine if that was max output ... there is no chance he could dodge that beam
There's several Unicorn mobilesuits that need MGs. Geara Zulu, Kshatriya.. and Bandai already have the molds for their excellent MG Jegan.. they need to get off their asses and make some variants!
I like how in the midst of the battle they suddenly had a ninja like fight but with robots and then Bahanger comes and then everything goes back to normal
1:17 Okay, why is a mid-UC beam weapon that weak? No fucking way Sleeves could afford Luna Titanium for a throwaway unit, those shield plates should at least be damaged.
Can someone explain to me why either side still used Bipedal MS's instead of a model that can specialize in Space combat? Similar to how the Doom hunter in Doom Eternal has a hover sled that has additional firepower. A humanoid type MS would have been an inferior design for space compared to that
The AMBAC system is explained in Origin and (poorly) in 0079 with the basis that changing the location of the center of gravity of an object in space can create propulsion-less thrust. This is coupled with an image depicting a traditionally designed space fighter having to turn by using maneuvering nozzles. Then that same fighter with an AMBAC system represented by two limbs attached to its sides and by just the act of moving one limb forwards and one limb backwards, newton's law takes over and the fighter spins without thrust. This is why mobile suits all have limbs for maneuvering as it gives them an edge, meanwhile traditional fixed wings are for distance travel and speed. Now, there have been suits designed for specifically space warfare. A notable mention would be the OYW era suit, the Dra-C. It is a Zaku with its legs replaced with Sturm boosters (the tube thrusters some MS have) and the shoulder shield and pauldron replaced with additional thrusters for maneuvering, as well as a resigned head with a 360° mono-eye track. It was known to be very fast and maneuverable, combining speed and maneuverability, but the problem was this made the suit rather fragile with even glancing hits crippling maneuverability. And that sums up pretty much the majority of space focused suits, as the majority are all very agile and fast, but aren't capable of really taking hits well. Otherwise, your best bet with getting high speeds with a space focused design while also being protected armor wise is to be in a Mobile Armor. Some notable exceptions are suits like ReGelgus, which were previously designed mobile suits upgraded with more up to date thruster suites while not compromising the ability for the suit to operate under gravity. Which leads me to my next point, fighting under gravity is still prevalent. After the One Year War, fights were made up solely of smaller groups trying to accomplish goals without the assistance of large armies like the Earth Federation Space Force, often said groups being one to two ships and their MS complement. Thus, it became important to be operationally capable for combat within colony cylinders and even on earth, where said groups would be more likely to clash rather than just out in a shoal zone. Thus, legs would be pretty important to be able to land and move on the ground. As for arms, that part is simple. The hand manipulators allow for greater weapon options for suits as they essentially just have to make gigantic versions of small arms and manpads. These weapons can be used in more creative ways as well as be easier to replenish on ammunition and such compared to built in weaponry. This advantage is often used to adjust the roles of different suits to properly account for an engagement rather than having to improvise. TL;DR It looks cool to have arms and legs, man.
I mean, all Conroy would've had to do was detach from the ship and fly off since the Galuss lacks any form of ranged attacks or thrusters (yep, it getting knocked of the Nahel Argama by the Unicorn's booster was essentially a death sentence for the pilot).
