I’m glad they had this moment. I think the show is stronger for showing just a bit how these characters grieve. Both sides have had such losses. This was a good way to show the blacks coping with loss

This kind of conversation adds so much depth to the plot. Fleshes out characters, their connections, and their motivations.

I agree. I think these moments are necessary. I wouldn't mind a longer show run (more seasons), if these characters are get fleshed out like this scene.

So Meleys (the dragon of Daemon's mother) rejected Daemon. I'm guessing he claimed Caraxes as a revenge on Rhaenys as he was her father's dragon.

Maybe but probably also because Caraxes was also really tough. Their personalities suit each other better, too

Caraxes was so fierce that he was warned NOT to attempt to claim him. So, naturally, Daemon did it and Caraxes and him bonded deeply. Caraxes previous Dragonrider said of Caraxes, even for a dragon, he's exceptionally fierce and "He loves to burn" Daemon and Caraxes were meant for eachother. Even though he may have felt slighted by Rhaenys claiming his mothers dragon, instead of claiming the fastest dragon (Meleys) he claimed the fiercest dragon (Caraxes) it worked out

Not sure if Meleys rejected Daemon or if he made a play for her to begin with. I think Daemon had already bonded with Caraxes by then?!? Nevertheless, Caraxes and Daemon are perfect for each other...and Meleys and Rhanys were perfect for each other. I guess its just funny that Meleys didn't really care much for Daemon...in the same way Rhaenys knew of his BS too

That’s not true at all. It is stated by Grrm himself that the strongest dragons at that time were vhaegar for his strength and size and caraxes for his speed and agility. Man this glazing is so unnecessary
