Rhaenys stood resolute as Rhaenyra's unwavering counselor and staunch defender, striving to avert the catastrophic war between kin and dragons. She beheld Rhaenyra's fearless resolve as she risked her life, boldly confronting Alicent in the Great Sept, seeking to forge a fragile path to peace and pull their houses back from the looming abyss. When all avenues were exhausted and the die cast, it was Rhaenys who first spilled the blood of the Greens. She embodied the promised prince from Aegon the Conqueror’s prophetic dream of the Song of Ice and Fire. Rest in eternal glory, Queen Rhaenys Targaryen and Meleys, the Red Queen.

"Men would sooner put the realm to the torch than see a woman ascend the Iron Throne." Rhaenys just about predicted and summarized the Dance of the Dragons with this line. She herself, the Queen that never was (obviously should have been), was the wisest and politically correct advisor to Rhaenyra. The two had their moments of not seeing eye to eye, but in the very end, Rhaenys would not let it come to pass that another woman would be denied her birthright. She brought valuable advice and experience to Team Black. Her loss is a big one to the show and to Rhaenyra, but she went out like a true Targaryen, fearless and honorable with her dragon Meleys, strapping herself to share whatever fate planned for her and her dragon at Rooks Rest. She was probably one of my favorite characters (yes, I know that's a recipe for heartbreak in these shows), and I know this is only the first of many losing their lives in this civil war. Also, OVIK, AMAZING edit! It felt like I was watching a long trailer. I freaking loved this edit.

This great video just solidifies the fact that Rhaenys is my absolute favorite character in this show. The queen who never was.

She was indeed the queen in many moments, where she was sensible and intelligent, even more than the men on the council, she died with honor, without fear and like a heroine who did not run away from her final battle. She will always be remembered.

Rhaenys volunteering for this was at least partly suicidal. This followed the scene where she meets Corlys' bastard son, confronts Corlys for his extramarital affair, and chides Corlys for hiding his son and tells him none of it was his son's fault. Then at the moment she volunteers to go meet Cole in battle, she turns and gives Corlys a look letting him know she is ready to die. It's not in this clip, but play the entire scene and you'll see that look she gives Corlys just before she turns and leaves.

Out of the whole GOT fandom, I fell in love with her. The truth and depth is her character is unmatched. And yes, she could have ended the war right there and then by burning Aegon but she choose to honour the will of those in the Dance of the dragon since it was not her War to decide.
