This is amazing! Of course the song is different (what would be the point of re-recording if it sounded the same?) and Alex has done an amazing job on re-recording all of this, the mix is more powerful, the guitars are strong and loud (and it fits the song very well, you can't disagree on that). Giacomo has done a very good job on a song very hard to sing ; of course he is not Fabio, people should stop expecting to see a 2nd Fabio coming out of nowhere. This is the new Rhapsody of Fire and I like it a lot. Fresh new energy, very different and original and in my opinion it's a great re-recording and it has been done with a lot of passion obviously. Stop complaining people ; Fabio is an amazing singer but as he said himself, he's done with all of that and he wants to turn the page. Himself presented Giacomo to the others RoF members and you should not be disappointed only because the band is different than before, like, what else were you expecting? Very nice job Rhapsody of Fire and welcome to Giacomo Voli and Manu Lotter!! :)

I praise the work of drummer Manu Lotter and I think it was not very easy to evaluate the vocalist Giacomo Voli, once the song explores a lot of the harsh vocals and choirs.

WOW, very powerful. The recording is simply amazing! All the nostalgia from the time I loved Rhapsody :D

Certainly an unusual pick for the first true showing of Giacomo with the band, as it's really hard to evaluate his voice amidst the choirs, and the harsh vocals aren't really representative of Rhapsody's typical work. Regardless, I still think this is an excellent re-imagining of one of my favourites from them and I truly cannot wait to hear more! Go Rhapsody! :D

You know, I can get behind this. I love Fabio as a vocalist for Rhapsody, but I always thought the few songs where Fabio "screamed" sounded really cheesy and forced, but this new singer does it a lot better, and his singing voice is quite similar and he's quite good. So, you mad? I'm not.

A mi parecer éste álbum será objeto de muchas injustas comparaciones y no muy buenas críticas. Creo que lo ideal habría sido tomar las canciones que no se le dieron bien a Fabio o que le fallaban mucho en vivo y hacerlas propias de este nuevo vocalista (o al menos hacerlo en el futuro, ya que en teoría éste album es conmemorativo y por eso entiendo el porqué del remake de las canciones más icónicas). A mi parecer este material es bueno porque nos da una idea de cómo sonará Rhapsody en los próximos conciertos, a los cuales por supuesto asistiré.

I don't get, with any band, why people complain about bands changing. People come and people go, it's how it works. If you don't like what they've become, then stop listening, but people leave. There are very few big bands that stay with the same singers. Another example would be Kamelot. Everyone loved Khan, but the new Kamelot is just as good in my opinion. Really, there's nothing wrong with disliking how a band changes, but complaining is pointless, because it's just going to happen, so you have to accept it or move on.

before I judge anything I want to hear him sing hisa own songs,this is just a tribute to old Rhapsody,and I like that he uses his own voice and does not try to sound like Fabio,so that is great,so I am gonna wait for a full leaght that belong to the new vocalist then Ill say what I mean of his vocals,this is just a compilation of old songs

Imagine if that all the bands that change one or two founding mates or main ones, would follow ppls advice like "its not the same like before" "they lost blabla sound essence blablabla", in their privacy they may agree and therefore say "Ok, everyone says we lost it, soooo.... let's split the band forever till founding members reunite". For now, this sounds like a good, well produced fan cover to me, so it gives me a sort of weird feeling. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I guess they just need to create original songs for Giacomo's voice and there will be an improvement. Anyway, best wishes for the future of ROF!

Hola, perdón la ignorancia, pero hace rato que no escucho Rhapsody por obvias razones. ¿Alguien me podría decir que paso con Fabio?, ¿ se retiró del grupo? Si es así, este grupo no sería un Rhapsody sino algo distinto de seguro, porque las dos figuras sobresalientes de Rhapsody eran Luca y Fabio, sería absurdo.

I want to hear Reign of terror!!! Me parece una buena carta de presentación para Voli, sacarlo del lírico y exigirle algo de peso como el gutural, en cuanto a musica, suena prácticamente igual, tiene un sonido bastante más pulido que el disco de 2002, aunque siento que eso le resta contundencia, y ciertamente no estamos acostumbrados al timbre algo chillón de Giacomo, Fabio tenía un timbre más grave y profundo, pero es su primer grabación con la banda, tienen que acoplarse y mucho terreno que abarcar, aunque su voz en su particular forma es igualmente brutal. Esperemos el próximo disco sea completamente nuevo y con un estilo que le vaya más a la voz de Giacomo, algo del tipo Shaman o Lost Horizon, que les permita aprovechar al máximo la gran voz de Voli

I never knew that Rhapsody of Fire has an album coming this year. Then again I guess it was to be expected since they had one in 2011, one in 2013, and one in 2015. Now we are getting one in 2017. Said to be featuring songs from the Emerald Sword saga, and doing a remake for 14 of them. So here's my thoughts on this remake in particular. I like the instrumentals here better than the original. It sounds more clear and the orchestra sounds more impressive. The guitar also improved heavily as well. Nothing from the original has been changed as far as the instrumental is concerned. It's all there and better than ever. The vocals are... different. The demonic singing sounds more clear to the point to where I can understand the lyrics better than the original without having to read the lyrics video, and to be fair, it still sounds demonic. The chorus on the other hand is... not as good as the original. It's not bad, but the tone it is singed in just doesn't sit well with me. Overall, I'm quite curious to know where this album will go. Sure the songs will probably not be as good as the originals, but I can at least expect some impressive instrumentals out of these remakes.

The growls are better, but overall it is the same with better production. It's not bad at all, and I'm curious on how the other songs will sound. The solos should have been re-written to fit better the new members.
