Regarding the tasks, all the tasks referred on this video will be there and the structure is the same explained here. You have two vms in which you are expected to make configuration changes. If you can tackle the above tasks, you are ready to pass the exam (most of them are exact the same, different data).

FYI anyone who hasn't taken exam yet! the standard way rd.break doesn't work! Do it like this! You can do it with the 'rw' in front of init=/bin/bash, to skip the step of mount -o remount,rw /. rw init=/bin/bash after changing password and relabeling, you have to use the path of /usr/sbin/reboot -f to reboot the system.

Dear Mr. Awesome Club, I passed my RHCSA Exam ver 9.3 today. Your exam video is awesome and questions were almost same. 1. I added BaseOS and AppStream as repository as given in exam. dnf repolist all this command showed that repos all added and enabled. But when I tried to install any package using dnf install -y command was not running and giving error that register the system using subscription-manager command. No username and password was given in exam to register the system with subscription-manager. Luckily I did not need to install any package and all were already pre-installed. 2. fdisk command was not found on system and I could not install it because system was not registered. I had to made partition using gdisk command. If you know anything about it. discuss it in your video for others. Anyway, I passed the exam. Thanks to your efforts.

One small addition, in the network task make sure that 'autoconnect yes' option is checked and that the connection priority (mncli connection modify 'connection name' connection.autoconnect-priority 'check existing number and modify') is bigger that any other connection existing.

Once you dont put the file into the /etc/systemd/system/, but use the systemctl to manage the initialize/start service it reload itself and doesn't need to run 'systemctl --user daemon-reload'

for the root password reset problem, once the grub bootloader is selected as rescue-shell, and we were able to break into the initramdisk (rd); please sir let me know if I am following the correct steps: first we mount the /sysroot with -> mount -o remount,rw /sysroot then, we change the root shell into sysroot with -> chroot /sysroot once within the sysroot shell, we will use -> passwd to set the new password as per question. then we create the autorelabel for the SELinux with -> touch /.autorelabel exit the sysroot shell exit the rescue shell System will now boot

Does anyone understand why the entry in auto.master is not "/home/guests auto.misc" ? /home/guests is the top-level directory for each users home directory on the client to be managed by autofs. Then each specific user (netuser1, netuser2, etc.) is an entry in auto.misc. ex. lines in auto.misc should be /netuser1 -fstype=nfs, etc. /netuser2 -fstype=nfs .... etc. the reference to /netdir in Q7 seems to be irrelevant?

What's the difference in using yum config-manager --add-repo vs building the repo from scratch? With the config-manager command wouldn't the gpgcheck=0 be the only option to add? . Will the gpgcheck =1 in /etc/yum.conf override repo settings?

Create myscript file to locate all files of 10MB lower and also set the permission of setgid and list of all files will save in /root/script. Copy script file into /usr/local//bin. Make sure run script to any location. Answer please

Hello sir first i whould like to thank you for this content i have a question you said to create lvm PE size 8M LVM size should be 50 extents as far as i know we multplie 8*50= 400M i am wondering why did you create the partion lvm with 500M ?

The partition is created with more than the required resources simply because the system will use some of the resources. In this case, if you want at least 400M of memory available for the LVM, make sure you create at least 470M, so you are within the security zone. However, when they ask for 400M, they will also add that anything between 350M & 450M will be acceptable.

This is something worng with this command it does fill up your /dev/mapper/rhel-root folder evern though for the user only files were created with no data #find / -user natasha exec cp -rf {} /root/natashafiles/ \;

on question 16 why did you add the UUID of /dev/vda2 to your /etc/fstab instead of adding the /dev/vdb2 UUID of the swap we just created?

Both ways you can get the job done. Its not a big deal you can either use UUID or mention path.

He copied the wrong UUID he should have copied the UUID from /dev/vdb2 and copied it from /dev/vda2 But if you notice, when the command "mkswap /dev/vdb2" is executed, the UUID of this new swap partition below is returned. Just use it in the fstab file.

Hello Sir. Addition to question 17: If the question asks us to extend the lvm size to 500M and size of vgs and pvs is 400M. Can you extend the size of /dev/sdb1 with pvextend/vgextend and then use lvextend command or do we need to repartition using fsdisk /dev/sdb ? thank you for your time.
