This video goes over some experiences, some of the energy usage, how I set up my exhaust tubing so I don’t get the A006 or T006 code which relates to too much pressure against the pump in the airflow category. Also, some of the plumbing set up I did and how to access the hidden menu.

Thank you so much for the video update I'm gonna try and pass it on the the guys. Super appreciate the promt response more than I can express. You are the only video I could find let alone get a response right away.

Hey for sure. If the “pros” did it right then we DIY’r folks would be out of a job. 😏. When I swap the tubing for summer mode I’ll share another video. That’ll be months away though.

I had never considered ducting a heat pump water heater. I am in Canada as well and disliked the idea of all the cold air being transferred out of the system in the winter. Not only are you paying to heat the water, but you're paying to warm up the air in the room. Thanks to your video, I will have to reconsider my stance on a HP water heater. What did you do to stop the cold air from creeping in through the duct to the exterior? I may have missed it but I don't like you explained your solution. As for heat pumps in Canada being dumb, I just want to say that when you don't have access to natural gas, going with a heat pump is cheaper than the alternatives like resistance electric heat. I have a whole home ducted heat pump. Yeah, the defrost cycle is an efficiency killer but even with you consider that it still results in a better COP than baseboard, etc. Ironically, it is the +/- 5C range that causes the most defrosts because that is when the air holds a lot of moisture and the ambient air isn't enough to melt the frost build up. Going down to -15C will result in fewer defrosts because the air can't hold as much moisture and the system runs quite efficiently. I only just moved to a home with a brand new central ducted heat pump recently and I have to say it is much more comfortable than natural gas because the system is able to cycle down and run consistently, giving a nice even and comfortable temperature throughout the house. Compared this to NatG furnaces which are either calling for 100% heat or none at all, so the house temp is always yo-yoing.

I change the standard exterior termination duct to a passive butterfly duct flap on the outside of the exterior wall. This is better but not perfect yet. It’s great that you’re having good results with the heat pump.
