Thanks for the video. I got a 61 fan code on my outdoo runit. So upon inspection, i found the fan housing filled with water. The recent snow storm caused water to enter the exhaust port. I drilled a drain hole in the bottom of the housing, drained, and reassembled it. It worked. I probably would not have been able to fix this without your help. Thanks again!
Wanted to say thank you for your video. I have a Rheem RTG-53XN and it was making a terrible vibration, I knew there was something in the fan, but wasn't quite sure where the fan assembly was, your heater looks alot like mine on the inside so I figured the fan was in about the same spot, and it was. After getting to it and removing it, I found a lizard dead inside the fan, once removed the vibration ceased. Thanks again for the video and the info about turning off the power and gas.
I bet you that little thing s what's making my whole damn house rumble to be damned lol. Thank you for this video, do not delete this. We bought a house and we have one of these systems installed by a half ass contractor or handyman company and we been dealing with this since day one.
If it rumbles, Step 1: check the venting first. Usually the intake/exhaust are too close to each other. They should be a minimum 12" radial distance between them. If not, the intake will suck the exhaust gas back into the unit and it will rumble. Step 2 is to check the incoming gas pressure. Make sure you are within 4-10.5" WC for NG, 8-13"WC for Propane. Always check the manual, if on hand, for more info.
