I initially attended Wool and Folk in 2021 and 2022 and I had the best time. For some reason, I didn’t like Felicia’s attitude during live Zoom call in July and decided I would skip this year. I am glad that I did. I have a mild handicap with my legs and feet and would have been miserable in close quarters. I have listened to the many complaints and I have empathy towards the vendors. I’m making copy of the vendors’ list so I can support them in the future. Love your channel and hope to see you at Vogue Knitting Live again!❤❤
Very proud to have some of my sheep in one of the only three shots featured in the lower sheep barn. We put a lot of effort into Making our pens enjoyable for the public. One of the ways we gauge how we are doing is by scouring social media sites for how many people shared pictures and videos of them after each festival we attend. Thank you for Making my day!
You should see my photo library 🤣 there is probably a dozen of pictures for each and every animal. I always start my Rhinebeck weekend with going to see and pet the animals first
I loved the Custom Batt booth! Also, thank you for filming slowly enough so that I could get an idea from the booths...so many of the fiber fair RU-vids move the camera so much that one doesn't get to see anything but fast motion, which, by the way, quickly makes me feel motion sickness. I loved meeting so many you know, and all the new books, and, oh, I could go on and on. Thank you for a great time!
Thank you for the lovely video. I too had an unpleasant experience at Wool and Folk and I really feel badly for the vendors (I did go home and ordered online from some of the vendors I missed). Fortunately Rhinebeck did not disappoint! Sorry I didn’t meet you.
I love all of the yarns you acquired at Rhinebeck this year. I love blues. (And reds and pinks and purples and….) And Mohair and Alpaca…. And those were gorgeous blues! And that gradient yarn will make something cozy for sure!
This was such a great recap...so many great people and many familiar faces. So glad you had a great time and those yarn purchases.....MY..OH MY.....all of them so fabulous!! Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
I wonder how the skirt of that dress smelled in the rain…Wensleydale is always beautiful though…. Cabin Boy Knits😂😂 Irina, that shawl to your right is exquisite. It is hard not to be jealous of all your talents. You have built a channel highlighting the fiber world, but the community that has gathered around you is indicative of the generous, kind, funny person that you are.
So wonderful to see this. Thank you. I had planned to be at Rhinebeck for Saturday and Sunday and hope to say hello, but Covid had other plans for me. Your Marvels of the Soundless Sea is spectacular! Gorgeous! Excited to see what you create with your lovely yarn treasures!
Thanks so much for sharing your Rhinebeck festivals ! Lucky you you met Mary Martin in person, Blue Belle Bijou, and so many others !!! Great acquisitions, can't wait to see what you will make with it.
Irina, I can't thank you enough for creating this video. Every October I say, "Maybe next year," but at least through your experiences, I feel like I WAS there! Okay, I'll now wipe the drool from my face; maybe it's best I wasn't there. I would have had to get an extra suitcase for all the luscious yarn you showcased! BTW, that sheep 'baaaah'ed perfectly on cue.
Good to see you with all your people ... and all of your animals. I found you through Annoo. She is one of the first RU-vid channels I subscribed to and she taught me how to knit! Big hugs! BTW I think if I was at Rhinebeck, I would buy so much yarn that I wouldn't be able to get home.
I was waiting anxiously for your recaps of your trip Irina and Im not even a knitter, Im a quilter! Im wondering why Wool and Folk organizers did not just order giant tents for them to set up in especially since many of the vendors could be flying in from other countries? Love love love your content you are AWESOME!!
great review, thanks for sharing your experiences - those fabulous yarns all around, it must've been tough to control yourself and limit your purchases...
Hello Irina👋Thanks for sharing your honest reflections on the various festivals on this past weekend. Ive never braved one, even here and fighting the crowds doesn't sound my cup of tea,so you saved me the trouble 😉.Can .imagine parking would be a nightmare. Impressed by your buying restraint, young lady. You are a gem💎. Enjoy your evening.🙏❤️👋🐨🌏xx
Thank you Irina for sharing this. It felt like I was there with you and helped with the FOMO. I was looking forward to meeting up with you and seeing Annoo in person. Hopefully I can visit Unruly Stitch someday soon! 😘
That was a nice coverage, especially for those of us who may never get to the US Fibre Festivals. I have been seeing posts about the Wool and Folk, but sadly as it seems to be the new norm to be nasty on Socials, people have been quite awful about it. I am sure there were problems and if the organising changed hands then there are always hiccups. Hopefully the screaming stops and some creative and positive feedback will improve the festival next time. Thank you again for your lovely video.
I loved seeing your Gaskiers Point La Haye. I started one this month, but it was obvious I was using the wrong yarn...a bit too wooly, and I thought it would hide all the lovely texture. So, it's on hold for now 😊
Enjoyed your perspective very much. Coincidentally I watched last night the recap by @AndreaAlexander of the Scottish Wool Festival, so very interesting to see the organizers both there and here.
What fun!! It was lovely to see so many faces that I follow too. And I didn't even get wet. Thank you Irena, for taking us along and introducing us to so many amazing people. Jamie took the cake though - he is never boring. :D
It was great to meet you Irina--I can't remember which building on Saturday...one of the lettered ones where I stopped you to say hi, look at your shawl, and snap a photo (@jess.s.makes). Thanks for showing us your view and the stalls I missed! 😂 I see I need to look at some of them online now and dream of future acquisitions. It was my first festival and it was beyond my expectations. Such a wonderful experience and I hope to see you at the next one.
