Have the receiver hitch model. Loading kayaks over 50 lbs I have been too vigorous and the kayak has gone too far. They are poly and were not damaged. Considering trying an 85 lb Hobie. Have loaded a 140 lb Laser a number of times, but that is hard to do after a long day. I am 5/7" on a good day.and was 70 at the time.
This system has an angle setting too. There is a stopper bolt down low at the hinge that can be moved to diffrent holes and change the angle of attack. We tried a few settings and found it didn't work well if you had too much backwards angle for loading the kayak on. The result was the rack wont fold back up to the vertical position just at the critical moment of pushing the kayak forward and avoiding car contact with the hull. This would vary with diffrent kayaks and car heights.
I have the hitch mount one which I think is better than ball mounting. Just seems like a more solid connection once you put the screw lock in the hitch receiver.
I have seen similar systems, which have a pulley system. The pulley system allows the rack to rotate to a lower (perpendicular to the back of the hitch). This creates a much lower angle for easy of lifting.
I know this is an old video but it reminds me of how the Aussies are so creative. I couldn't count the number of time I've seen camping, boating, and other outdoor gear that is so innovative yet not available in the US.

Scott Lovig I have both the Rhino universal loader and the T-loader. They both have flaws. The side loader cannot be used if you have pads on your racks and just never feels solid. The T-loader takes up a lot of space in the back of my car and still requires more effort than I would like with my PA14 360. Looking forward to seeing what Berley Pro have to offer.

The trunk becomes useless because you can't open the door without taking the bar off. That's a HUGE trade off. If you have the Pro Angler, I'm sure you have gear you'd like to place in the trunk.
Can you leave the Rhino Rack T loader on and have it assist in transporting the kayak? I have a 2007 honda accord coupe and I was wondering if a combo of roof rack and this T loader thing would work. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks,
Here you have the best case scenario to sell a product; tall, big guy and a short vehicle. How about a more meaningful video with Joe or Jane Average and your typical SUV - especially removing it. And the microphone really needs to be in the vicinity of the speaker.
+ebeaver2007 err... this is the little guy replying. There isn't a single loading system or kayak shown there that I'm not able to handle on my own. And I have dodgy shoulders to boot. But any way you cut it, some of those methods involve lifting half the weight of the boat, and if you're likely to struggle with the size of the boat you're using, best bet is to get a trailer, or an alternative system that does not involve much (or any) lifting, like the hydraulic and winch based systems shown.
