Hi, do you know what might be the reason for grafted schlumbergeras' death? I grafted them in winter on Selenicereus and the transplantation was succssful 'cause they have grown beautifully for some time but then they suddenly died. I don't know why. I didn't change anything in care. Do you know what might be the reason for that and how to prevent the rest grafted schlumbergeras from dying? I would be very greatful for some advice.
Unfortunately no, there could be a lot of reasons. The most common is likely the graft wasn’t all that secure. A friend of mine experienced something similar grafting on Selenicereus, maybe try a different stock? I wonder if maybe the midrib of Selenicereus hardens off or something like that as it ages and causes the grafts to eventually fail. Maybe the maturity rate is too different. Just sharing ideas for maybe why.
