Rhoda Scott Lady All Stars - I Wanna Move - Live in Marciac 2022 

Fantastisch! !!!!!

Yep, they're great - I saw a gig from the New Morning jazz club in Paris broadcast on Mezzo around ten years ago and was hooked instantly! At that point they were just a quartet, with Rhoda, Sophie Alour, Lisa Cat-Berro and one of the two drummers here, I think it was Anne Paceo (in the coloured shirt) but it felt very tight and complete. Two years or so ago they did two shows at the Vienne festival in southern France - one of the leading jazz/blues open-air festivals in the country - with none other than Bernard Purdie on the guest drummer seat for this track! (one of those, the evening gig, was again shown by Mezzo and a clip from the other one has been around here on RU-vid). He played his ass off along with Julie Saury, clearly loved it, and at one point at a break in the music he git up from his drum kit and gave Julie a big bear hug. At the end of that evening show, Marcus Miller (who was also playing the festival) came on stage with Rhoda's grandchildren - it was her birthday - and led everybody singing "Happy Birthday to You"! 😺
