Rhodes International Airport Diagoras (Greek: Κρατικός Αερολιμένας Ροδου "Διαγόρας") (IATA: RHO, ICAO: LGRP) is located on the island of Rhodes, Greece. The airport is located 14 km southwest of the city of Rhodes, near Paradeisi. It is the fourth largest airport in Greece in terms of passenger numbers. The airport began operations in 1977 when construction was completed and replaced the old Maritsa Airport. The airport has an area of 31,000 m² and will double this area with the expansion. The new terminal, which opened in 2005, will improve services for charter airlines. The airport is open every day of the year and offers a large number of services: car rental, banks, duty-free shops, cafes and parking in front of the terminal. The airport is located near the villages of Kremasti and Paradeisi, and Kremasti Beach and Paradeisi Beach, with a good view of the planes. If you like adrenaline, head to these beaches and wait for a plane to fly by and land or take off. From Rhodes airport it is not far to other seaside tourist destinations such as Ialysos, Rhodes old town, Faliraki, Kallithea and Kolymbia.
