Rhonda Vincent has to be one of the most talented singer out there today. What is cool about this young lady is the fact that she is out there for the real music and country. She will sing backup or fill in where ever needed for old and new stars for the love of music!! she is a class act and I am a huge fan of this lady!!!!
@Rhonda Vincent you bet it's 👌 with me, I'm also honored that you actually take the time to answer your fan mail so to speak. It's probably not the right "environment" for touring anymore but if you ever tour the northeast I'd 💘 to see you, and looking forward to hearing from you again, be well my friend
Absolutely loved Rhonda's version of the classic Merle song. It was so cool that Merle's sons were there, too. So much better that a lot of the music that is coming out today. Nothing like the pure "ol' country" music. :)
the world would have been much smaller without a woman of that talent. she is a musical talent and knows how to suck everyone with talent for her band, first of all her respect for the talent of others and to make the group a whole, is absolutely amazing and what creates music of the quality they deliver. So those who have the honor of being in the band need no honors. I hope she grows enormously old with the same commitment. I bow in the dust and show the utmost respect, she is the best.
As what many would consider an atypical black man, I absolutely adore this song and very much enjoyed this amazing cover. At 32 years old, it's been a strange life for me. I've often been considered "not black enough" to my fellow African Americans and too black for anyone else. It's very isolating. But despite everything, I'm so thankful I made the decision not to limit myself to what's considered black American culture. Otherwise I'd be missing out on so many amazing things like this wonderful cover. Sorry to bring up race. I'm just so happy that I'm blessed with an open enough mind to be able to enjoy things outside of what society says I'm supposed to.
Speaking as a middle-aged white man good taste knows no color or way of life, I happen to love alot of 60s and 70s soul music like the temptations, ojays, spinners and so on and so forth peace my young friend
Don't be a victim brother, your color means nothing. It's the man you've become that matters. I can guarantee your a good man regardless of color by they way you worry.
Well Shaka Smith welcome to rhe human race no matter what shade of flesh... That openess to great music, no matter the genre, makes you an even more awesome human than others thought you already to be.
I first heard this song on the Everly Brothers 1968 album Roots. It became my favourite song on that album. I knew nothing about Haggard at that point but during the last 15 years I've become a massive fan of Merle Haggard!
Awwwwww maaan... This song's too short.! I can listen to it forever.! Have been listening since 3 years back... But still not satisfied ! Will continue for lifetime.! Love you Rhonda!
Hello how are you doing thanks for your support I really appreciate it may God bless you more I will love to have your email so we can chat better than this
I had the radio on and heard a pretty voice. Grabbed a couple of lyrics, looked up the song, and discovered Rhonda. (Ain't the internet great?) I wanted to find a live performance instead of just off a record. This is one of my favorite songs of all time! Even when I don't hear it for years, I still remember every word. I'm glad to have discovered this singer. I will be checking out more of her work. She's got a gorgeous voice!
Great tribute to Merle. I learned to play acoustic guitar on them old songs & this is the first one of Merle’s I learned on. So easy to learn to play from. I love it

The first thing I remember knowing, Was a lonesome whistle blowing, And a young un's dream of growing up to ride, On a freight train leaving town, Not knowing where I'm bound, And no one could change my mind but Mama tried One and only rebel child, From a family, meek and mild, My Mama seemed to know what lay in store Despite my Sunday learning, Towards the bad, I kept turning 'Til Mama couldn't hold me anymore I turned twenty-one in prison doing life without parole. No one could steer me right but Mama tried, Mama tried Mama tried to raise me better, but her pleading, I denied That leaves only me to blame 'cause Mama tried Dear old Daddy, rest his soul, Left my Mom a heavy load, She tried so very hard to fill his shoes Working hours without rest, Wanted me to have the best She tried to raise me right but I refused I turned twenty-one in prison doing life without parole No one could steer me right but Mama tried, Mama tried, Mama tried to raise me better, but her pleading, I denied That leaves only me to blame 'cause Mama tried
Rhonda so talented and can even sing a man's song makin us believe! No better technical.vocalist in bluegrass. She has taken her gifts as vocalist and musician to aspiring heights. Also in love with both Vincent and partner. What a special family, but have one question, what makes mum smile?
Rhonda and the Rage, simply the best. Seen her live performances 6 or more times. Always full of energy, humor, and incredible musicians. Great meet and greet time with Rhonda.
Rhonda is doing a wonderful job singing Merle Haggard song Merle Haggard would be proud ever for singing that song I guarantee you that I know Merle like like that song and I did too way to go Rhonda good job
Awesome and especially at orange bluegrass , Lake County Florida,, Also seeing Sonya and her Mom, The Issacs being there to back her was nice. Class act
This woman has a beautiful voice, and harmonizes with her own bluegrass band perfectly. She plays in the south and always has her family with her. She is Christian lady with moral values also. Its such a shame our country has lost these values along our way to making money.
My favorite song. Great tribute to Merle. মা আমাকে ভালো করে বড় করার চেষ্টা করেছিলেন, কিন্তু তার অনুরোধ আমি অস্বীকার করেছিলাম ............. 👉The first thing I remember knowing Was a lonesome whistleblowing And a young'un's dream of growing up to ride On a freight train leaving town Not knowing where I'm bound And no one could change my mind but Mama tried One and only rebel child From a family meek and mild My mama seemed to know what lay in store Despite all my Sunday learning Towards the bad, I kept on turning Till Mama couldn't hold me anymore And I turned twenty-one in prison doing life without parole No one could steer me right but Mama tried, Mama tried Mama tried to raise me better, but her pleading I denied That leaves only me to blame 'cause Mama tried Dear old Daddy, rest his soul Left my mom a heavy load She tried so very hard to fill his shoes Working hours without rest Wanted me to have the best She tried to raise me right but I refused And I turned twenty-one in prison doing life without parole No one could steer me right but Mama tried, Mama tried Mama tried to raise me better, but her pleading I denied That leaves only me to blame 'cause Mama tried
I'm beginning to wish I never heard Rhondas version of Momma Tried. It has been stuck in my head playing over and over for days now. I think it's called an ear wig.
