If you do manage to go it's worth checking what time the glasshouses close because they closed at 3:30 on the day we visited there is so much to see we didn't reach them until 4pm so couldn't get in. The exotic garden is one of our favourite areas. There is so much though at Wisley and each area has so much to offer throughout the seasons. The hilly woodland area is especially full of colour in spring. It is hard not to enjoy a visit here. Glad you had a lovely day to enjoy this wonderful place.
Hi Ivor It was our first time at Wisley we will definitely visit again hopefully in spring when the wisteria walk is in flower. The rhs gardens are all so well presented they really do a good job. We visited during the first week in October on a week day so it was nice and quiet.The gardens are really lovely and there is so much to see it is impossible to go round in one day. One tip if you do go we were looking forward to visiting the glasshouses and planned a route to visit them at end of our visit, however we didn't realise that they closed at 3:30 even though the rest of the gardens remained open until 6. So if we visit again we would check what time they were closing and plan around that. Hope you are both well. Best wishes, Dave and Dawn ❤

0:03-0:05: Lovely tunnel! "The Walled Garden" So - how can I say(?) - "structured"; also, plenty of seating. (And, with that beautiful cottage in the background - and clear, blue sky - it would make for a really good jigsaw, I reckon!) Fountain: Yes, Dawn: very, very impressive! "Jellicoe Canal": I'd love to go in a boat, up and down it... (But I dare say they wouldn't let me!) 1:47: I love to see creative topiary! 2:33-3:36: Don't let that giant hand reach down and grab you, Dawn: run - and get back inside the "Spindrift"! "The Wellbeing Garden": Perhaps I need to go there for a coffee, too... 4:18-4:28: Ever been tempted to buy a bonsai? Plenty of water, throughout. (As gushing as your praise!)
Thank you so much Phil. This us probably our favourite rhs garden so far. Dave particularly loves the tropical style garden. You are right I think they would frown on you taking a boat on the canal 😆. We were dissapointed not to get in the glasshouses as they closed them at 3pm for some reason.
