david yelling to see the dog at the end of the interview is seriously the best also hes SO RIGHT about letting them have quiet moments - both rhys and taika are used to being bombastic and entertaining and i love david for wanting to give them quiet, contemplative moments. really put the soul in the show tbh.
I just want to say: matelotage isn't -yet- in the show, and the question was, if I understood correctly "Whats your favorite bit in the show that was also true irl?" Sooo I am very exited for the next season 👀
this show. i've known for a very long time that taika waititi and rhys darby and their new zealand crew were tv geniuses but this one just proves it again for the nth time. can't wait for the wwdits fandom to find this show it's absolutely spectacular
youre telling me people dont know about gay pirates? or they slept at 8;30 sharp and gambling and fights were banned on the ship? the most crazy thing to me was that he had a library haha.
I’ve been a fan of Rhys and Taika both for years, and getting to see them play those beautiful dramatic scenes was such a special treat. This show feels like a showcase for character actors to get to play meatier roles for once, and treats them each with a lot of care and thought.
He's visibly thriving off of the good-will and joy of people who've been baited for years. More seriously, he reminds me of Brendan Fraser if Brendan hadn't been prematurely aged by stress (cries)
