Fe is a popular Malinke rhythm from the Northeast region of Guinea, West Africa. Traditionally, "Fe" refers to a bowl-like instrument made out of the gourd with cowry shells. It's played by young girls when they dance to welcome visitors to the village.
There are many versions of Fe - each village has their own. Today we're gonna show you our own modern version of Fe.
The video includes individual parts demo, a slow ensemble version, and a faster performance version with rhythmic break.
We hope you like it!
