The Rhythm Future Quartet performing "Bushwick Stomp" by Olli Soikkeli live at Rotary Records in Springfield, MA. Get the Transcription here - www.soundslice...
Good stuff. We were lucky enough to catch Olli and the guys last night in a little club in the hills near Santa Cruz CA. They channel the spirits of Django and Stephane but, are more ambitious than other gypsy jazz groups, writing their own material like this one, which stands up well to the old classic material. Highly recommended.
Бесподобного исполнение,музыка неповторимая,А музыканты на одном дыхании со знанием дела исполняют виртуозно.Удовольствие неописуемое.Спасибо и Брависсимо!!!
I just discovered you all and I'm a new fan! My father Harry Stern played jazz violin in the tradition of Venuti and Grappelli and hearing you all fills my heart with so much happiness! Hope to catch you live on the east coast sometime soon!
Saw the Quartet at D'Anbino's in Paso Robles CA and my life will never be the same. BTW, the gentlemen are as charming off stage as on - especially Olli. But Jason's violin will bring you to your knees. He also plays jazz mandolin!! C'mon, enjoy.
Awesome... we hear it and realize something gypsy/argentine/spanish with some jazz/blues/flamenco/tango.. a lot of tango with that violin. Really awesome...
I adore this. I was recently introduced to jazz manouche and I am fervently learning as much as I can get my hands on. If y'all ever have the time, it would be lovely to see a video demonstrating how to play this for the different instruments (I personally play the guitar)! If not that, tablature or the score itself would be just as swell! Thank you so much for sharing. Bravo!
the fiddle is actually a pretty loud instrument, like I totally forgot how loud it is compared to an acoustic guitar, or a banjo, or even a mandolin. It just stands out that way. I found this out when it was in the middle of the night and even with the mute I decided I could not play it at the moment because it would wake up everyone in the house. it's louder than strumming chords, at least you can be sorta quiet on a guitar, but the violin will wake up room mates for sure. and they won't be happy about it I guarantee it btw I just recently picked up the fiddle again, after almost a decade. When I was in school I wanted to learn the fiddle. well as you know school taught me violin. It completely killed my motivation to learn it in the first place, like how tf else am I going to win against the devil? classical music? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA yea nah m8 they may be the same instrument but violin and fiddle are two very different things

Great playing, had to turn off half way because the colouration of the suits and background almost made me vomit. no exageration. totally disorientating.
