I am a big fan of Elena's (and Ian ofc) and I love how humble she is despite her immense talent! She also has a great personality, and you both are so funny together😂
This really goes to show how incredibly strong male gymnasts are. All these events require intense upper body and core strength. (Note to all the commenters: no where do I say that female gymnasts aren't strong - they are, I did gymnastics, I'm familiar with the events)
Not really a good comparison though. She's a rhythmic gymnast trying to do artistic gymnastics. Female artistic gymnasts can definitely do the bars; they have an event called uneven bars, after all.
😂 I love these ones so much LOL and that shot of Ian up by the bar with a “What happened?” and the off-camera answer from down in the pit “I don’t know!” at around minute 8 just killed me 🤣❤
It’s so cool to see the differences between the two sports! I feel like Elena and Ian vibe well together 😂👏 I was actually laughing out loud while watching this 😂
You can tell the difference with how she swings with her legs and hips and him with his arms and shoulders since the center of gravity is different. I feel like stuff like pommel horse would be physically impossible for me because of me hips
I don't think the difference in swing is due to a different center of gravity, but a difference in technique. You can see in all her swings and movements that she is not used to moving her torso laterally, she keeps it very stiff.
Do some hip opener stretches. Butterflies etc. I’m a woman but after a lotta those I’m finally juuuust starting to be able to physically get into these sorts of arm balance strength moves. :D
They'd rock straps for sure but I think silks would be a real mixed bag, the flexibility and choreography parts would be less familiar. I would absolutely love to see it!
HAHA I can absolutely relate to Elena trying to swing but not going anywhere. It's like not only the arms but also the core having to hold itself straight so that the momentum comes through the torso insted of only through the legs. I can't even swing on the monkey bars being so weak
Bro team tryouts are actually in 1 month😅im super nervous… but these videos keep me motivated, yall make me laugh and watching you guys not give up is AMAZING!! And the beginning🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love all these try-each-other videos! Desperately want to see a crossover with circus arts 😁 (and as an aerialist and a crutch user i am now dying to try the pommel mushroom, it looks like such a familiar kind of weight bearing!)
I love seeing the difference between the gymnastics styles. You can actually see how Ian uses strength while Elena uses flexibility, especially with the pommel horse.
Ian, as I'm watching this, I thought of something for you... Have you ever seen the cheerleading movie 'Bring It On' (2000)? There's a scene where they haze a girl auditioning and ask her to complete a difficult combination. I'm not a gymnast so I don't know if this is even possible or if it's purely movie fiction but thought you could attempt this for content/a shorts video? "Front handspring, step out, round off back handspring, step out, round off back handspring, full twisting layout"
