Thank you so much for creating and posting this terrific, two-part tribute to arguable the greatest thoroughbred of all time. A Japanese race-going friend mine, sadly no longer with us, had a great love for Ribot and collected everything written about him. I wish he were alive to see these images. Fantastico.

We have just become owners of a filly descended from Tofenella who was the dam of Tenerani the sire of Ribot a wonderful filly family we can't wait to see how she turns out.

A great pity Tesio never lived to see this. As close to perfection as any racehorse ever got.

This horse was a complete and utter Superstar. This beast the legend that is Phar Lap the magnificent Sea bird the beast of burden Secretariat and the freakish horse not from this planet Frankel are the greatest horses I've seen. I cannot split them. Special mention to Mill Reef, Kingston Town, Tulloch, Dr Fager, Winx, Deep Impact, Orfevre, Bernbourgh, Nijinsky, Count Fleet, Citation, So You Think, Dancing Brave, Dubai Millennium, Superb Dancer, Black Caviar, Man o War and the mighty Arrogate.

Thank you for posting this two-part tribute to the incomparable Ribot. He was an idol of my childhood and it's pleasing to see his mighty feats so well presented all these years later. And kudos for the stirringly apt music throughout.

I can't believe how clumsy and uncoordinated and sloppy jockey's were in those days. It had to affected the performance of the horse.

I so enjoyed this, especially with the bows to Verdi and Puccini, but darn it, I cannot find an English-language biography of Ribot. I would love it. He was such an interesting horse. Is it true that his temperament was good before he came to US?
