WATCH RICH PIANA CHRONICLES:
generationiron...
A lot of us in the Generation Iron offices are still reeling from the passing of Rich Piana - especially as many have met him personally in the process of filming Generation Iron 2. I decided to reach out to Ric Drasin, who was a well known long time friend to Rich Piana, to get more context and insight into Rich's passing.
Ric Drasin has been releasing honest, entertaining, and informative videos on RU-vid for quite some time... so I knew that he would be able to have a frank and reflective conversation with me about Rich Piana's life leading up to his tragic death. We touch upon the rumors of recreational drug use, his past heath issues, and the kind of life Rich always pushed to live even up to the very last few days. You can watch our full interview above.
Bodybuilding, fitness, weight training - all on the Generation Iron Fitness Network!

@@brendanbell4732 yeah I'm sorry. Rich lied a shit ton about what he was able to achieve even with steroids. He didn't get that big with steroids. Look at his actual bodybuilding career. That's the biggest he ever actually was with steroids. The rest is synthetic as in fake. It's not muscle it doesn't contract. Rich's problems were compounded by the fact he was carrying 40 lbs of extra weight that is completely useless, even more so than fat tissue.

Rich was a kid at heart and unlimited humility. Everytime he spoke, it was emotion like he was counting the days before he died. He admitted to using to get big and warned and regretted not getting where he wanted to be naturally and gave examples of real competitors who got there. What smart person spends all that time trying to build a company and then treats his body like a dumpster, doing all the drugs under the sun ending up killing himself at the age of 46. Even though most of the things he was saying about the diet, training etc. didn't really make a lot of sense and were mostly bro-science, he had this way of saying it that made you wanna sit down and listen. A great entertainer, even though I only knew him from RU-vid I really miss him and in the back of my mind I still can't believe he is really gone. Being very tall ain't too optimal either as that accumulates alot of weight too. There's alot of basketball players that should monitor their heart often. Being 211 cm / 83 inches tall can't be good for anyone although your fit. Very tall people that exceeds even that height normally don't reach old age. The ticker can't take it.

Don't be ignorant, Im Unavailable. Piana took off to Florida to evade his creditors. Everything he had wasn't owned, it was leased. If you think he was making money hand over fist, then you're even more ignorant than Piana was.

As a Blasian let me say this: Rich Piana was a wonderful type of human being that loved his fellow human beings of all races so much, that he loved interacting with them and dropping fire knowledge for them, in order to educate them. He never once lied to his fellow human beings. He kept it real for his fellow human beings at all times and he vigorously injected their minds and souls with the type of knowledge specifically designed to help them better themselves in life, whilst infusing them with knowledge about the dark side of life to help keep them off the wrong track - just like a wondeful, loving brother would do. In fact, no person did more to inspire and give real love to all people on social media than Rich Piana. Man, i miss him so much. And guess what, like an animal in heat our brother Rich Piana set about working ferociously with online teachings via video blogs to back it up his love for all races of people. Talk about committment! Rest in paradise Rich Piana, our brilliant wonderful warrior. You may not have got everything right my son, but your contribution to the upliftment of all races of people online was truly massive and truly monumental. Man, i know you are looking down from heaven smiling at us when we humans love and help eachother as you tirelessly taught us to - right until the end. I'll never forget you my soldier.

It’s still so strange that he’s gone. I was at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills (where Rich is buried) this week visiting someone else, and stopped by to visit him and put some flowers on his grave. It’s shocking how modest his headstone is given what an epic person he was. My instinct is to say I wish his family would’ve done a little more in terms of his final memorial/resting place (it took eight months for a permanent headstone to be installed, and it’s extremely basic), but who knows what the circumstances were. Anyway, we may not have always agreed with what he did and the choices he made, but he lived life unapologetically and on his own terms and he really did care and want to help people, which is more than most of us can say. Anyway, if you’re a fan and you live in the L.A. area, please go show some love and visit him. 🙏

@TheBmwyallaa 7 лет назад
ziggy morris Spelled vs. spelt In American English, spelt primarily refers to the hardy wheat grown mostly in Europe, and the verb spell makes spelled in the past tense and as a past participle. In all other main varieties of English, spelt and spelled both work as the past tense and past participle of spell, at least where spell means to form words letter by letter or (with out) to make clear. Outside the U.S., the two forms are interchangeable in these uses, and both are common.

Kokainuser Do you ever wonder why the most *content* people in life are those who evaluate on improving "themselves". And the most *discontent* are people who evaluate and make assumptions about others? You assume he was a wreckage of a man??? You didn't walk in Rich's shoes. You're not basing your decision on factual knowledge; you're just making the decision and believing it, as if it were fact. The problem with making these types of assumptions, and we all do it - myself included, more often than not, we’re wrong. Instead of basing our understanding of people and events on what we observe and what we know for a fact, we often prefer to make judgments based on *emotions, beliefs, expectations and wishes* Rich loved life...loved helping others...enjoyed pushing his physique to the limit. If hes a "wreckage of a man" that means all national and pro bodybuilders are as well. They consume tons of chemicals, battle through injuries, push there bodies to extreme and roll the dice. We both know that's bullshit. The only difference Rich was honest and open about his life. Unfortunately it made him an easy target "gosh damn it" Nonetheless - we can agree to disagree about what age is considered "dying young" Its relative far from absolute. Personally when I think someone is "too young to die" I always think about what might have been, what they could have accomplished if given more time, all the potential that was lost. The survival curve with various years, the most recent was 100% up until your 50s - then it drops very slowly, picking up speed at 60, although it is still about 95% at 60. However by age 70 it is 80% chance of survival. By 80 it is down to about 60%, by 90 it is about 20%.

Due to the HGH, the walls of his heart thickened. Thus, the cavities (passages) of the heart narrowed. This was the primary cause of this heart attack. You can also add the damage done by the steroids, however that was supplemental damage compared to the HGH.
@davefoster2962
@davefoster2962 2 года назад
HGH = STEROID too. Anabolic steroid is the main cause of heart failure. Tons of clinical research / studies on it. At least we know for a FACT that his body weight is NOT the cause of his death.

Let me explain as a physician . First of all it is completely possible for him to have a heart attack without having a lot of plaque in your coronary arteries. When you take testosterone you increase red blood cell production (secondary erythropoiesis) and you can increase to the point where your blood becomes to viscous and clots. In addition being that big he probably had sleep apnea and hypoxia which again causes increased rbc production due to chronic low oxygen levels. On top of all of this if he did cocaine which constricts the coronary arteries it's a major risk to have a heart attack. And this guy is wrong about an enlarging heart going against the ribs the heart grows inward and impairs it's ability to fill. A enlarged heart is also risk factor for sudden cardiac arrest from ventricular tachycardia.
@VoiceOfThe
@VoiceOfThe 7 лет назад
Kyle Hirsh Very interesting. So you're implying accumulative contributory factors regarding his lifestyle have most likely led to him having had a heart attack?
