When you straddle the fence.....ur nuts get caught sometimes. Conrad better realize douchebags like Ross and Bischoff aren't his real friends. Ric is real and he's your family.
@@anthonywylie2036 Yeah, I was thinking the same 🤔 I remember the night and believe JR was pretty lit and still drinking throughout the whole show. I thought that was the reason for his release. He was drunk pretty much and had zero control over the show so Vince McMahon released him from WWE for it.
Ric flair has no reason to be better the man got Ross fired because he was drunk, and the crazy thing is like most of his friends some of them who needed him and he didn't show up. Now he's mad or was supposedly because someone told the truth the man has to learn to walk away himself. And for all the wrong things that he's done he shouldn't even take a second to forgive nor ever getting mad. He must have forgot what he did to Rick Steiner and a whole host of others but Rick is the most relevant.
@@ericscott3997 I've only noticed it the last several years. Basically since his retirement match with HBK... Increasing in severity with each passing year.
Ric's hostility towards JR just goes to prove that everything Jim said was accurate. Yes, it can be hurtful to be held accountable for your shitty actions and decisions of the past, but that doesn't give you the right to slander and tarnish people's names because your mad they told the truth about you.
A friend really doesn't go public volunteering dirt on your buddy that ain't public already, if we friends and you know I cheated on my wife 40 years ago and this isn't public record already, if you tell this it may end our friendship regardless of it being true if my wife is still living, what good will come to me as your friend with that info being revealed? If I'm a true friend, you'll know more harm than good will come and that should remain between us and that hooked I screwed 40 years ago.
@@seansimms8503 You have the high ground here with that. Even the mafia has that same code of ethics. If you just corroborate what they already know, it's ok. BUT if you go offering up new information, you are a rat. And we know what they do to rats.
To be fair Ric probably does have some dirt on JR and Jericho after 30+ years (ALL these guys were trouble in the 80s thru 2000s) and he didn’t retaliate by airing any of it.
@@adamlane6453lol Do you think any of these guys were saints in their heyday? Ofc they all have dirt on each other….that being said, I’m sure the skeletons in Flairs closet are much worst than those in JR’s
Firstly , Jim Ross is EXTREMELY relevant in my eyes. Living Legend , greatest voice in wrestling history. Ric throws out this specific quote around 3:20 that Ross apparently said "You have to know when to walk away from Ric Flair" . What's wrong with that ? I think everyone needs to know when to walk away from anyone else in situations , especially when Alcohol is involved. I think it's tragic Ric can't see past that statement with Ross and understand what Ross was saying on the greater scheme of the situations . Ross practically defended him otherwise that whole DSOTR episode.
Your comment sounds like it's coming from a person who has experienced this. I have great friends I've had to walk away from and it's hard to do. I pride myself on being a good friend, being the type of friend I want to have, but it's impossible to be a friend to someone when their sole purpose is self destruction. I have friends who have got so caught up in their own mess that I can't be a part of it. If they called me now needing anything I would do anything I could to help them, but I can't be around them on a daily or weekly basis anymore. When you think about the people he used to be close with and is rumored to not speak to anymore, it seems Flair is one of those people. He prefers enablers and those that encourage his bad decisions over real friends that tell him the truth and hold him accountable.
@ronniedobbs5525….yep you’re by no means alone. I had to walk away from that lifestyle (drugs and alcohol) when I was a young kid as an act of self preservation. Lost good friends in the process doing so, kids I grew up with. And honestly at that time I didn’t completely quit, I just picked better people to hang out with. People that went 50 mph instead of 250 mph if that analogy makes sense. Anyways I’m in my mid 50s now, clean and sober for some time and sadly, watching as those people that were going balls to the wall no longer breathing air. The partying life is a tough row to hoe indeed.
@@Principaledpragmatist Unfortunately , it's a problem I've had to experience within my own family. My story definitely isn't as bad as others , but there's physical and emotional pain that will be felt for a lifetime. I've seen what a simple drink can do to a room , and the people in it , and it's forced me to avoid ever drinking in life. For some people , getting drunk isn't an option , it's built in them to avoid people that abuse drinking entirely , and with Ric nearing dying from internal deterioration due to alcohol abuse , you would think he'd understand that . Respect your stance on being a good friend until it's no longer possible with certain people. It's the healthier option in the long run , even if those people never come back into your life in a healthy manner , you did your best but preserved your morality not to follow them into that hole.
I find the older someone gets the more child like they become my mom is in her 70's and has tempertantrums if she doesn't get something done for he when she expects it even though she doesnt tell you that she wanted it done, she just calls me up screaming on my answering machine about the hedges then she won't pick up when I call untill I come over and she's huffing and pushing about hiw I'm suposed to do the hedges every othe Thursday lol so I know how childish seniors can get
@@astrocreep5561 Sounds like my Dad, I believe it happens to people that were big deals or were treated as important people when they were younger. Fear of irrelevance and or not being seen as vital as one once was, is difficult Syrup to swallow.
@@timothywelch4332 yes that’s exactly what happened. Ric was a mess, and JR got fired for it, and didnt say boo about it. And between Flair and Ross, JR is the one still calling matches on national tv while flair is doing car shield commercials, so to say he’s only trying to stay relevant is laughable.
Jim Ross was a great announcer in WCW around 1992.. In 93 for the WWF all the way into the mid 2000s.. Today in AEW as an announcer he sucks.. And Tony Schiavone is much better
@@hostilethetruth Tony Schiavone is not better than J.R. now lol Ross has to call some of the most embarrassing wrestling he's ever seen. Dinosaurs, aliens, kidnappings, attempted murders, teleportations, mind control, Ghostbusters, Space Jam, complicated gymnastics routines, Orange Cassidy, women dressed like dolls, sloppy wrestling, etc. Ross called matches with the greats like Rock, Austin, Foley, Taker, etc. Now he's calling matches for the Bucks? Omega? Page? lol AEW is beneath him.

@@bigdaddyroy5382 What has wanting to see Ric wrestle had to do with this? Nobody watches AEW try again nobody gives a damn about hearing Ross commentate in 2020s
Jim was clearly being honest, as was anybody that ever said anything about Ric in a documentary. Ric just needs to take accountability for the things he’s done. You may not like to hear the truth from your peers but your actions do have an effect on those around you. Take accountability….. and it’s not fair to say JR is trying to stay relevant. The pot calling the kettle black……
Personally I would add Bobby Heenan to the greatest announcers of all-time list. His witty one-liners flew past me when I was young but listening to them now is comedic gold 💕
I respected JR for owning up to his part in the plane ride from hell. That's what I think it was. He looked the other way when that stewardess was harassed/assaulted. Probably many other times too. When he was asked about it, he admitted it.
Ric Flair on podcasts is an absolute car-wreck. He can’t answer a question and just goes off on a tangent making everything about him. This was awkward to watch. Also, JR will ALWAYS be relevant, he’s the most iconic voice in the history of pro wrestling.
He's an old out of touch geezer. It won't take much to get him to go off, the thing is....one day he's gonna say something deemed far too offensive and will get shit canned. He's far to old to change his ways now.
I like JR. But Bobby the Brain and Jesse Ventura were just as good as announcers. Bobby led WWE during the WWE growth during the 1980's. Jesse was actually screwed by Ross during his WCW days. Ross was above average until the Raw Attitude era.
In 100 years from now..nobody will remeber jim ross, yes ross in my eyes is the best ring commentator ever with the brain being right behind him,but in 100 years from now ppl will still be taking about the G.O.A.T ric flair
@@Bucky-hendersen-troutguy that is the dumbest statement ever. Jim ross was the VOICE of WWF during its hottest most iconic era. Ric flair is a piece dog shit. Guy can’t even put a coherent thought together.
I like RIc but he’s not really good at being told the truth about his career or his actions. He is what he is. He should own it n stop being so sensitive
@@kevindaubert2677 he made it sound like it was JR he was talking about but it sounds more like he was describing himself, in trouble with the IRS, domestic dispute, etc.
@@SylentEcho on that one he claimed that he actually owed VINCE the money, Vince loaned him 500k to get out of tax trouble and his entire Wrestlemania payday from that HBK retirement match went to finish paying back Vince. Basically Ric already told it in public so why does he care if JR does?
I love both Ric and Jim. From an outsider's prospective it's starting to look like in recent years Ric takes everything very personally, perhaps too personally. I don't think anyone really likes to see this kind of conflict, it's just feels bad.
I hate to see Ric be this way. After how he lived for all of those years, he has no right to be this indignant. Jim Ross has defended Ric WAY more than he ever needed to, and Ric needs to be fucking grateful of that. There is a reason why Ric has such little respect in the industry these days. It’s because of how he treated people. He’s a prick.
I know it can hurt when your friends talk about the negative stuff about you, but you’re essentially taking shots at him for being truthful. Everyone knows about Ric’s struggles, regardless of what JR has done himself, the topic was you, and he was just being honest.
WTF. I don't expect someone I call a friend to go on a tv and air my shit out whether it's the truth or not. If you think that's acceptable then you give the "with friends like these who needs enemies" a whole new meaning. I pity anyone who call you a friend.
@@MatsThyWit The issue here clearly isn't saying it to the person who's business it is. Airing out your friend to the world is a scummy way to speak your truth.
@@mimoe7587 what he said everyone already knew. The plane ride happened in 2002. I stopped watching before it happened and I even I heard about the plane ride
If he is talking about the plane ride from hell episode where ric got drunk stripped to nothing but his robe doing the helicopter with little naitch and cornering the flight attendants. I see why jr said sometimes you need to walk away from flair or whatever he said, Flair became a liability at that moment. Flair is coming off as a bitter old man here.
Sad to see Rick so petty with past friends. He plays the martyr when people call him on his shit. Love Ric and all his contributions to the business, GOAT status. He’s just a sad drunk now.
He’s always been a sad drunk. He was just able to mask it better when he was younger because he was still active in wrestling. Now that he’s been relegated to podcasting it’s become more apparent at who he really is
I don't think 500k and Ross dragging him, knowing he'd take it personally AMD the huge effect it eould have, he's allowed to be real disappointed. I don't think he even name calls, just shhhh, why say that to them in the current environment? ESPECIALLY if you're claiming dishonest editing
I just think that Ric flair should even if he's hurt by something shut up brother, I'm not beating up on him or disregarding his feelings the guy has said and done things that he should have been "arrested for and canceled" it's not something that was one off repeatedly throughout his whole career. He's dumped wives repeatedly and forgotten to pay people repeatedly, as well as demolished and stunted people's careers just as many as he has helped build repeatedly. So you have to take the totality of him into consideration and people still love him the man and the entertainer the two things are separate though. But he and holding suffer from the same condition they lived their gimmick constantly.
@@rondoughhowell6442 ric flair is conrad's father in law aint he? This podcast is also a lucrative means of income which isnt easy to come by for flair these days.
All I have to say on this is that, JR will never be irrelevant, most wrestlers will be for forgotten eventually, but people will always remember JR anytime they witness something special, as far as everything else, it's between Ric and Jim
Big fan of ric as a performer and I know he has struggled with "self -confidence" issues but everyone is not gonna kiss your ass. The truth is out there and you profit from it, so when someone speaks the truth, why get mad??? Friend or not.... respect to Jim Ross, he did nothing wrong.
Jim Ross was released from his contract when he had too much respect to kick a drunken Flair off the stage at the WWE 2K14 press conference. If Ric has suggestions for Ross's career, he can buy some award winning BBQ sauce and write in the comment box.
I teach 2nd grade and an "attention getter" I use in class is I say, "Give me a Rick Flair" and they all go, "WOOO" it's amazing. I wish you could hear them, haha.
Ric flair is the type of person that asks a rhetorical question but still waits in anticipation for you to answer just to make sure you reinforce his opinion
Last time I went to vote, I ran into so many of these kinds of people. It used to be you only talked to one person, the ballot giver and maybe a “thank you” to the processor. People talk too damn much. People say a lot of nothing.
Seriously a commentator . Compare to one if not the. best t wrestler of all time . And as good as ross eqs and still is nobody pays ticket s to see him .
You know how they say never meet your heroes, and the reason is because you'll always be let down by them in real life. Ric Flair and Jim Ross are both perfect examples of that.
It's getting hard to see how bitter Ric has become. I've never heard Jim Ross say anything about Ric Flair that wasn't true. A true friend sometimes has to tell you things that you might not want to hear, but it seems that Flair turns on people when they do that.
This is just another example of nearly a lifetime’s worth of not being held accountable for one’s actions, or at least not having those skeletons being revealed due to said one’s star power. Feeling like persecution &/or betrayal when it all comes out. Ric flair is one of my favorite wrestlers & wrestling personalities. And there is no debate on the impact he made in the business of professional wrestling. But, when your star burns out, the skeletons come out. You can only hide the truth for so long. Unfortunately for Ric, this is just, once again, nearly a lifetime of “passes” finally coming to fold. What, 40 plus years? More? Be humble and a good human my friends. Because when entertainment businesses such as professional wrestling inevitably realize they can’t squeeze another dime out of your name. The protection dies. Hell, that goes for almost every industry.
All I can say is Woooooooooo Ric Flair is the best 👌. I watched the 92 royal Rumble today with the jim cornette watch along on at Same time. Wooooooooo
As usual ric the comment wasn't about you but you made it about you. Jim Ross is relevant and doesn't need to say outlandish and do outlandish things like you do to stay in the lime light. You've said yourself you're a good wrestler but you're not a good man. And most people will agree with that. Jim Ross is a good man
There’s so many things wrong with this I don’t even know where to begin 😂 bottom line is though JR is still relevant to professional wrestling despite what Ric thinks.
In all honesty god bless both Ric Flair and Jim Ross... Obviously they are both legends... But the hard cold truth for both of them is that Ric Flair had no business having that last match, just like Jim Ross has no business being on commentary anymore...
You don’t really age out of commentary. Ric is just full of shit, and nobody really cares about keeping his friendship anymore because he’s never been loyal to anyone in his life. Notice he was really just mad at the money he lost. Chickens come home Ric, get used to it because you ain’t gonna look very good in the modern environment
He isn't. Flair is actually a pretty terrible person and was a terrible father. I acknowledge what he did for wrestling but other than that he is a POS.
Well it's not Jr's fault that Flair keep acting crazy not to mention that Darkside of the Ring episode was put together to be over controversial because that's all that matters for those guys
Ric I’m not sure if these comments are monitored we have something in common I’ve just recently come out of my 2nd medically induced coma and I don’t want to come across condescending as you have more life experience but people make mistakes and I understand lack of loyalty as well. I’ve been through a lot in my 45 years and the 2 comas shook me so much that I realised people make mistakes and I’m not here to advise you but please keep your loved ones close to you and nobody is perfect including me. Stay well Naitich, much love from Scotland 🏴
I love Ric but Conrad honestly needs to tell him that he's being an idiot with this nonsense against JR, and he also needs to explain to Ric what creative editing means because he clearly didn't get it if he was still angry with JR 🤨🤦
The only real problem with what Ross said was that if he were really a friend, he would have said this to Ric's face a long time ago and if he couldn't handle it, Fuckem! Ric has a lot of nerve talking about being desperate for relevancy. He's practically redefined this concept. He's hopeless. He has all of these relationships end up the way they do but never seems to recognize the common denominator. Unfortunately, It seems Conrad is falling into the same trap. You can tell he completely disagrees but for whatever reason doesn't want to challenge Flair the way he should.
Remember the old saying, "If you can't say something nice about someone, say nothing at all." Dark Side of Wrestling is Selective Justice and a bunch of Marks looking for a rating. Flair, Arn, Eaton, Taylor, and even Landel got me over and I will always thank them for wising me up. I witnessed Flair get so many of the workers over.
Dark side is great for entertainment purposes but if you're looking for that fact finding truth then look elsewhere. The plane ride from Hell episode was just the latest in many they've done were they omit certain facts and bend the truth with creative editing
@@adamprice3466 Dollar signs? Is that what it was? She should have probably picked out just about anyone else on that flight to falsely accuse then, because they all probably had more money than Flair.
