As he said, Ric made 500k a year but spent 600k! Woooo! 😀

@Lyles music Yep, he said on the Horsemen DVD that he always spent more than he made, no matter the amount. He also said that his credit card was nicknamed Michael Jordan all over the country, because it constantly bounced due to lack of funds. That's Ric for ya. 😂

500k a year doesn't sound like as much today, but back in 1993 but it's the equivalent of over $1 million today. Pretty good pay for the size of the business back then.

@@TheRmm1976 This was a paycut for Flair as he was making around $700,000 per year back in the late 80s for WCW. Of course WCW was in the financial crapper back in 1993.

It still is a lot of money today. Most Americans don't make anywhere near that. The median household income in most states is less than 100k. If you know how to manage your money, you can do really well with 500k. Now imagine that in the early 90s!!

When Ric talks as a man i can hear and feel the pain in his voice. Ric if u read this, for what its worth there has never been a more influential man or athlete in society than you. I could never dunk like Jordan, hit like Bonds or putt like Tiger. Butt brother u taught me how to be the man. And ive made a good living kickin ass in all that i do and letting everyone around me know! WOOOOOOOO!

The most interesting part about the interview is how he talks about getting along with Bill Watts and how Bill Watts was fair. Lots of old school wrestlers that felt Bill was cheap. Very interesting.

By happenstance kind of, sort of. Sid vs Vader was the originally planned match. Unfortunately, Sid got fired. Ironically, because he got into it with Arn over Flair being too old to be the face of the company 😄

John 4:13,14 13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life. Only a relationship with Jesus can fill that void in our lives. We are complete in Him.

@@natureboy1313 He wasn't a natural westler but he learned really well through out the years. I worked in the WCW promotions and events. Sting was the most demanded. His merchandise moved faster than anyone elses. Like the Ultimate Warrior in WWE, Sting was our biggest Baby Face draw.

@@natureboy1313, Sting was great. You are right, he had a great look and his mic skills were ok, but I feel his in ring performances were also great and he was more than mediocre. Look at Luger, Ultimate Warrior, Hogan, and any other big bodybuilder wrestler, none of them were great in the ring. It was there look and mic skills. Sting was much better in the ring than Luger, Hogan, etc.

At that point, Sting was the highest paid Wrestler in WCW. In 1994 Rick Rude demanded to get Sting's spot and make the same money. I think he was at $750K a year in 1993/1994. They referred to such a big contract as "making Sting money". Then Hogan came in and got around 2 million a year plus bonus pay.

I don't get Vince's thought process to think guys like Ric Flair and Macho Man were too old in the early 90's. They still had massive appeal to the fans and were still in their prime.
@Matt-cr4vv
@Matt-cr4vv Год назад
Well it’s not necessarily he thought they were too old to wrestle at all but more that he wanted to begin building younger guys for the future. And that makes sense because eventually you have to do that because you can’t ride the same guys forever. Ric was 44 Maxho was 41. How many years do they reasonably have left to be the top of the company? Eventually you have to begin building the youth to step into those roles as negative as it can feel at the time. That was one of the major issues with WCW at the end. They never worked to elevate younger talents and only focused on the veteran guys which became an issue eventually. It’s not that those guys have no value but eventually the torch has to pass just like how the torch was passed from the older stars to these guys. Harley Race was in his older years and passed the torch to Ric. If you just always rode Harley until he decided to walk away you never have a Ric. It’s the cycle of life.
