Even though these aren't the greatest canisters, I'm glad to see they tried to make one! You always do a fantastic job in your videos, please keep up the fantastic work!
Did a a lot of research and got this. Took back a R40p with the mix of hardwood and carpet and got this. Really impressed with this machine and agree with your video. Great job
Glad to hear you're overall enjoying the machine. The Sister machine the Simplicity Wonder is one of my favorite canisters. There are definitely some cons to them but they offer pretty good carpet cleaning. Also they do, or did, have red LEDs in the headlights that would flash after a shutdown due to a jam.
Surprised how quiet the power nozzle is; I was expecting it to be a screamer like the supralite. They must have tuned down the RPMs since the canister suction probably takes care of most of the job. I wish the bag was a little bigger. I've come to prefer canisters in recent years but the bags are so much smaller and need to be replaced constantly if you have any pets. Something with a larger bag would be perfect.
John long time no comment.. nice video. Me personally I have 2 tacony vacuums and have no desire for anymore, I'm looking into Sebo here as my next machine, probablly the Felix or E3.. I noticed in one of the videos you had said you got rid of a bunch of machines. I thought it would be cool to do a video on what you decided to get rid of and keep from your collection and your thoughts. I think it would make for a super interesting video, but again it's just an idea that's all ; I like how you take your time and explain things thoroughly in all of your videos. I agree, even though the Prima is pretty impressive, it does have it's weaknesses as do most vacuums. When i went to the dealer the sales guy hooked up the nozzle only (not to the canister) and showed me how well it worked just by itself.. pretty cool
I have actually tried to make that exact video you thought of, but it ends up being lengthy and many people seem to like the vacuum reviews and no the commentary 😂
I have a Riccar machine similar to this-the bag in the canister is too small. With the dual air function-fan in the nozzle the small bags fill quickly. Also with mine the power nozzle motor doesn’t seem to run at the speed yours does. Mine is an early version-when these first came out. I have the tandem air uprights-the cords on them get pretty warm in use. As a comparison the 10A Royals cords run cooler, same with on my Kirby Avalir 1 and 2. Just feel the Royal and the Kirby do the same job as the tandem airs, only draw less power. Still like using the tandem airs anyway-a novel , but effective design.
Mine does not have the tandem air novel. Mine has a the regular power head. However, it does have a foot release close to the power head. Thanks for confirming the heat issue. I was afraid it was me making it over heat. If riccar would design a better cord rewind and a better storage system for the tools, this would be an A
Hi John, I was thinking about what you had said about different vacuums Hohaving the suction on the side or center. I was looking a some of my vacuums and what stands out on some of them is the brush roll. Some of them have the brushes pushing the dirt in the direction of the suction. Chevron vs standard. Chevron pushes the dirt into the center as to some other push to the side. However I do understand what you are saying that it’s not just one thing but several things coming together that makes a quality vacuum.
Yes I have several chevron style machines, never really noticed a difference in terms of the design pattern of the bristles, but I do know that some of the Panasonic style machines with the dirt inlet located on the far side of the vacuum is my least favorite. I really feel that even with a brushroll to aid in getting the dirt all the way to the end isn’t always enough. I’ve noticed that with that type of design I und up running over Little pebbles a few times before it gets sucked up. It tends to put it right back down in the carpet. The weight of the object doesn’t help either haha
When I first saw this machine advertised online, I thought about buying one, but there are just too many things I can’t get past with this machine. To name just a few: I’m not a fan of the hose handle, I don’t like that the attachments aren’t on-board (I HATE those clip-on attachment holders), I’m not a fan of telescopic wands, and I think that the power nozzle is way too big and blocky. Again, I do love all of your videos, and I am looking forward to more longer-style videos in the future!
Definitely think it’s the worst handle design, I end up holding mine at the very end, found having the wand two clicks from the bottom helps too oddly enough. Complete let down from how this machine was hyped up on vacland back in the day before it was launched, definitely not as quiet as it was stated to be, I remember the quote “dare I say it’s quieter than a model g” biggest lie ever. Glad I have one but, nervous because realistically not sure how long tacony will be thing anymore, think about what happened to simplicity. Stock up on breakable items haha.
@@JohnSmithNE3478 haha, no I agree it’s quiet, but it was touted as being quieter than a model g Electrolux which is damn near silent. A complete lie amongst many other numerous lies from this individual.
