I love this ladoo....thank you so much nisha ji. In my country, we make this ladoo on weddings. Due to the fact that people were poor, and rice was available, this ladoo has become part of a tradition so instead of any other ladoo, rice ladoo is made especially for the religious ceremony on weddings.

Wheat,rye,barley all contains gluten and can give various problems such as gas, bloating, diarrhea if having gluten intolerance. You can use rice which is a gluten free grain. White rice is easier to digest than brown rice however, brown rice is more nutrient rich. This recipe is made from rice. So, I think it's fairly safe for use. I myself suffer from gluten intolerance so searching for rice recipes. @Nisha Madhulika has got few rice or rice flour recipes such as neer dosa, akki roti(rice flour roti), rice flour poori, rice laddo, rice papad. :) Cheers!
