Balogun was next Henry too. Why are fans suddenly quiet on him? Rice was overrated and overpriced. Ramsdale was a championship level keeper when he arrived, but then people cried for months because he was replaced by Raya. Also your logic is a little flawed when you consider the impact youth players who cost nothing can have on their teams (i.e Saka) and how some players can go under-appreciated or underrated based on their price tags (i.e Odegaard). Most of the time, fans base this correlation on emotion anyway so it's not a reliable barometer. Why do you think nobody mentions Rice's price tag now; when in the summer they were saying we overpaid for him and got swindled? Because he's liked generally, hasn't come from a big rival and his performances haven't been scrutinised for the last 3 years like Havertz. Again, I don't expect modern football fans to be able to comprehend just yet that we're in a stage of football now, where using price to dictate player impact is a little futile. Because the performance was mid, we broke a record in the first half - Most passes completed by a team in one half without having a shot on target in the past 20 years. A couple of late goals saved us again, we beat a Palace side on their knees.
I’m an arsenal fan and was certainly not a Havertz fan, didn’t like the signing at all. We’ve overpaid for sure but the guy has been playing fine recently (was actually really good against Liverpool). He’s not worth the money but I think he’s a decent squad player, solid option especially in the 9. Saying he’s absolute shit is way too far.
Arteta doesn't have to play Havertz, Jorginho who was brilliant against Liverpool on the bench, he could use Nketiah up front and Trossard on the left 8 like Grizz said, he tried that before. So this notion that he has to play him is not true.
I agree Man Utd could do with a technical ST like Jesus. Might not be a finisher but a ST like that gives your wingers an extra 5/10 goals per season. Hojlund can’t start every week, so I’de like to see us next summer sign a 2nd ST who is technical
