I loved the MOB and there halftime shows. But just FYI on the Lyrics of Louie Louie, there was 1 bad word in it! During the recording the drummer mishandled a drumstick at one point and shouted the F Bomb which you can hear on the song at about 55 seconds into the recording. But the actual lyrics were quite harmless and it is still funny to this day that J Edgar Hoover got involved.
I was there during the time that that the MOB originally did this song at a halftime show. It was meant to be funny because the Marching Owl Band did/does funny performances on the field. That's because the Rice team almost always loses. So what can you do but have some fun with it? Also of interest, Louie Louie was investigated by the FBI for containing "bad words," which it did not. No one could understand the words, was the finding. So that made the performance by the MOB even funnier.
I must dispute this fact. The government couldn't understand the lyrics, but they completely missed the drummer yelling "Fuck!" after dropping his drumstick at the 0:54 mark. Relisten and you'll hear it plain as day.
I'm sorry to hear about that. My ex-wife died in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day. And, as it just so happened, my father died soon after my ex-wife, in a way that he had always hoped for, and ulimately thus so wanted to go: He had his nuts bit off by a Laplander.
A&M should be embarrassed and troubled with the selection of our team entrance song at Kyle Field. (Power-Kayne West) Would you want your children singing this tune, laced with profanities and racial slurs, around the house? Would you want them even listening to it? Many are not even aware of this. Should they be? Is it wise for us to be associated with this tune? Our correct course of action is an easy one.
