@@TheCapn23 If the fumble-six didn't happen, Mahomes has more yards and another TD, plus the perfect second half stats. It wouldn't even be a discussion. But because people look at solely at the simplified box score, they think Hurts outplayed Mahomes.
Its tougher this year. If we win the SB that means 4 playoff wins with the worst offense of the Mahomes era. Imagine if we started the year with a true # 1 WR. Most likely we have home field advantage.
Kelce, Mahomes, star studded D.......I would wouldnt say better team.....Ravens fantastic D..if you think Lamar is better than Pat ..then yes they would be better......but Lamar is nothing compared to Pat
@@brentinnes5151 mahomes is already a all time great BUT we can’t act like buffalo defense wasn’t on its last leg… Afc north plays football differently than the rest (i.e they lost to cincinnati) I think baltimore will be a different animal
Mahomes doesn't get 'got' very often. I know it has been said time and again, but this guy is special. As a long-suffering Cowboys fan, I love watching these epic post-season Chiefs games. If they somehow find a way to defeat the Ravens, who are by most metrics the better team, that would be unbelievable.
Rich is absolutely right. Growing up watching Tom Brady I had thought I would never see another QB that could achieve more. We are watching a Mahomes that seems even better than Brady at times. It is interesting to see if this dynasty can be sustained like the Pats. Going to the AFC conference championship your first six years as a starter is such an unbelievable stat.
We were calling for Bob Sutton's head all year and the year before, we knew he was trash, brady has his scheme memorized..I remember seeing Justin Houston so pissed off lining up for another down knowing Brady knew exactly what we were going to do.
These two teams are so evenly matched in almost every way. The only side where KC "may" be off, is the offense, but we've seen over the last few weeks that even that is stepping up and improving. You just can't ignore that with #15 on the field KC has that ability to create magic. Period. I'm not dissing on Baltimore by saying that either. These two guys are equally competitive and it should be great fun watching this game.
I too am done with the Hurts outplayed Mahomes narrative. Hurts fumble that was returned for a TD in a game he lost by a field goal is the inconvenient fact that always.
Mahomes is a perfectionist, you can see it in how he is and how he plays. I don't condone him screaming at the refs but I understand why he did. Frustration built up
I'm a Chiefs fan from the days of Otis Taylor and Wille Lanier. I think the Ravens are the best team in the league, but in the NFL anyone can beat anyone on any given Sunday.
@@brentharlow3559no I think it's more National media East Coast West Coast big Market bias. They can't fathom a Midwest team in Kansas City even though Kansas City is the top 30 city they just don't see it that way. They just happen to have one of the best if not the best quarterback in the NFL
@@chuckHart70 I'm not saying that doesn't happen, because I'm pretty sure it does. But, with the uptick in women watching the Chiefs games "Because Tay Tay's Man is playing" I'm gonna be honest I think the NFL brass would like nothing more than to have the Chiefs win it all this year so that they can tap into that female demographic. I could be entirely off base with that, but that's my read on it.
Hurts played very well in the super bowl but did NOT outplay Mahomes. Mahomes was on one leg going up against a stiffer defense than what Hurts had to face.
Chiefs are in their Villans era. Enough of being good guys $hit. They are the bad guys and we love it. Every team has their Superman(QB), but Mahomes is THE KRYPTONITE!!
@lennybeason1110, Go check who Stephen A and Swagu picked for the AFCC game. Very few media people picked Chiefs but mostly they are picking Ravens because they have better weapons.
@lennybeason1110, The hate KC gets because they have been so good at winning in Mahomes era makes us the villains. Doesn't matter who the opponents are, as soon as the Chiefs win, everyone except Chiefs blames the Refs and completely ignore the fact that Chiefs are one of the top most penalized team. People can't take Chiefs success and want them to lose. Pure hate towards Chiefs and Mahomes. Also, what has Taylor Swift done to receive so much hate? Is she wrong for rooting for her boyfriends team?
@lennybeason1110, Picking against Chiefs doesn't make them the villains. But the hate they get because they are doing good ever since Mahomes became the starter is what has turned this team in to Villains. We as Chiefs fans love it..
I saw it. I love Patrick Mahomes, but historically, Big 12 quarterbacks have not played well in the NFL. But Patrick is a First In/Last Out kind of guy. He is "smart smart", and the hardest working guy in the room, any room. What I love most about Mahomes is that he is so much fun to watch. Of course he has all of the fundamentals, but he also makes plays that nobody else can imagine.
The fact that we are asking these questions about Mahomes proves he better than Brady. Brady’s greatness was truly set in the second half of his career. Mahomes was a freak from the Start. First full season he had 50 touchdowns and 5k yards! He will get better and better which makes no sense because he’s the best player in the league. It is astounding
Have to roll with the Chiefs based purely on past performance and the fact that Mahomes is the guy. Just that simple, until proven otherwise. The good news for Ravens fans is that this is the best team they may have ever had, including Super Bowl teams. No excuses- go out there and prove it.
Vince Lombardi was so good as a coach. As a high school teacher, he took his high school basketball team to the state championship in the first year. Before he started he went to the library got a book on basketball so he learn how to play it. Best coach ever.
The playoffs Chiefs look like a different team from the regular season. It feels like they finally got the offense dialed in and Rashee Rice has emerged as a legit #1 WR.
NFL isn’t about who makes the most big plays, it’s about who makes the least negative plays. Take away the 3 games that were cost by 19 and 24 that actually lost those games and it’s a different offense. Guess who’s out for the playoffs?
As a Chiefs fan I want to believe we can pull off an upset but it's looking like a long shot. Last years Chiefs team was the 9th team since 1976 to have lead in the 4th quarter/overtime of every game they played, 4 of which won the Super Bowl of the previous 8. Make that 5 now that the Chiefs pulled it out against the Eagles. Fast forward to this year.... Baltimore has now had a lead in the LAST 2 MINUTES of every game they played (sans week 18 when they sat starters) - It's just the mark of a really good team that is almost by default going to the SB. We are down some really key guys, including our best spy linebacker in Willie Gay and it looks like all-pro guard Joe Thuney won't play... not a good sign with shakey Tackles on both sides. It will take a monumental game plan and execution to somehow pull out a W in a tight one.
Yeah I saw Thuney is likely out and Pacheco has a foot injury. And if Willie Gay can't be the spy on Lamar like he was against Allen... yeah gonna be a long day
Hurts didn't outplay Mahomes in the SB. He made the biggest mistake in the game and gave the Chiefs 7 points. Mahomes played mistake free and played a perfect 2nd half of football. But whatever makes you feel better, TJ.
Should of ended a different way , brady was intercepted to end the game, that got called back because ref decided Dee Ford lined up offsides. At least we were able to get rid of the old defence coordinator Bob Sutton after that game. We were calling for his head the whole year and year before.
Reid nailed it. Mahomes, like most greats, is a perfectionist. He holds himself to such a high standard, it's really, really, really hard to deal with mediocrity (when it presents itself) around you. I know the feeling. Honestly, Mahomes handled this season as well as someone like him could. Anyone who criticizes his behavior isn't a high achiever and can't get in his mind. As for Hurts "outplaying" Mahomes in the SB...please. remember someone was playing with high ankle sprain. You try doing that lol.
And its convenient for brady that the refs didn't throw the flag until the ball was intercepted. Ford was barely offsides anyway. The refs definetely interfered with the ending of that game
Dude he was way off sides and are you really playing the ref card as a Chiefs fan? Remember that terrible offense PI against Kittle in SB before halftime changed whole game and then last season the Bengals gm lot of bad calls including getting 2 3rd downs in row or the fact they won SB last year on very questionable def holding
@@davis2k1234You crying about a call that went against the 9ers in the 1st half? You got a whole half to play. Go win the game. Bradbury held JuJu twice on the same play. He even said he did. How many times he gotta grab a guy before the flag comes out. Every team in the league has a bad call story. The Chiefs lost to the Packers on a non call obvious p.i. that would've gave them 1st & goal at the 5 for the win. It happens to everyone. No excuses.
They're out to prove they can beat a team with their 1st string Defense unlike the 2nd string injured defense of the bills. And yes every team has injuries but nowhere near the amount the bills had... Not to mention gabe davis, the guy that scored 4 touchdowns on them the last playoff game Which set an nfl record.
Mahomes on one good leg in the Superbowl had a 131.6 quarterback rating and zero turnovers....and won the game Hurts had a 103.2 quarterback rating and a fumble returned for a touchdown...🤦♂️😅
7:45 - BRO STOP. Hurts DID NOT outplay Mahomes. Mahomes was literally PERFECT when he had to be in the 2nd half of that game leading a comeback. Look at Mahomes QBR, the Eagles vs. Chiefs time of possession. Not to mention dude was on ONE LEG. Hurts also DROPPED the ball and gifted the Chiefs 7, which one could argue cost the Eagles the game. "hUrTs OuTpLaYeD mAhOmEs"... lol
I think that helps KC. Spags usually has a good game plan against the Ravens. Plus I like KC's db's and safeties better than Baltimores wr and te's. Kickers are even. Defenses are ranked 1-2. Should be a great game
Unlike the pats dynasty i actually dont mind the chiefs winning and making it to another superbowl. They never felt like the evil guys like tom and the pats did
Man, Mahomes and the Chiefs will be fine and back better than ever next year if they don’t win. The pressure is all on the Ravens in this game. Are they a top of the top tier team or are they who they’ve been for years? No pressure on the underdogs here at all.
Trouble is people don't wanna believe in greatness until you keep on winning. So if you win just once or twice, nobody is that impressed. But if you do back-to-back or 3 or more, then they talk about your legacy. But not UNTIL then. Mahomes was great at a young age & got rings with his team for his city & it's up to them to keep it going, no matter what others define you or your legacy as. 💯
can we stop with the "Jalen Hurts outplayed Mahomes" crap? Mahomes was ruthlessly efficient in that game. Nearly 80% completion percentage. 3 passing TDs (which idc idc is tougher than tush push tds in the red zone. And most importantly, He didn't turn the ball over. Jalen Hurts DID turn the ball over and that was the difference in the game.
I hate when they say hurt out played Mahomes last year and he didn't Mahomes Offense only had the ball for 24mins let that sink in and he had 186 passing and 3td with 0 turnover and 0ver 40 yards rushing on 1 leg.
Kelce said on New Heights today that Hardman’s failure at the goal line was his fault. He said he misjudged the block he needed to make and that he has apologized to Mecole repeatedly for having to take the heat for Kelce’s failure. IDK. I am repeating what I heard him say on his podcast. It was an odd take to me, but he was there. He should know. (I went back and looked. He was supposed to block 21 and TK touched him, but didn’t stop him from slamming into Hardman.)
I mean I called this I said Mahomes in 2016 was the second coming of rodgers and there’s no way the chiefs reach on Watson or kizer even though that’s what all the analysts said. I couldn’t believe it when they traded up for him but I was beyond thrilled. Obviously we only got a taste of it in preseason but from then on I knew we’d finally get a Super Bowl in my lifetime. I was a huge fan of his and even still I underestimated him didn’t know he’d be the actual goat 🐐 if he wins this super bowl this year then he’s on-par with Tom in my eyes
If this paints a decent picture... The idea is there are two Commanding Officers/QB’s meeting on a battlefield. The better QB wields the launch codes and decides at the initial point of action how to proceed. Which QB can better represent their chain of command and execute with initiative. QB vs QB A.Webb
Hiw did Hurts out play him in the SB? Without the tush push they wouldn't of even been close and he gave up 2 TDs even though the didn't count 1 that was obviously a ctch then turnover.
The 49ers drove for a winning TD late in the 4th quarter to take a 3 point lead and were "lucky to escape with a win." The KC Chiefs drove for a winning TD late in the 4th quarter to take a 3 point lead and had "an impressive win." 🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂
The Niners were 10 point favorites, as the 1 seed, playing the 7 seed, at home. The Chiefs were underdogs, on the road, playing with a “broken” offense.
The Niners looked like crap most of the game and won. A credit to them to grit it out and find a way. That still doesn't change the fact that they got outplayed by a team that shouldn't have been there for most of the game.
I love the way lamar and patrick talk about each other. It shows so much respect. Big chiefs fan but I knew lamar would be way better than people thought coming out of louisville and Iblove seeing him thrive.
These are the quarterbacks Mahomes has beaten in the playoffs: Andrew Luck (1st overall, 2012) Deshaun Watson Ryan Tannehill Jimmy Garoppolo Baker Mayfield (1st overall, 2018; game also featured Myles Garrett, 1st overall in 2017) Josh Allen (3 times) Ben Roethlisberger Trevor Lawrence (1st overall, 2021; game also featured Travon Walker, 1st overall in 2022) Joe Burrow (1st overall, 2020) Jalen Hurts Tua Tagovailoa That's a pretty good list before his 29th birthday; he can also play (and beat) 2014 1st overall Jadeveon Clowney on Sunday. Here's Tom Brady's list in his first 6 seasons as starter, for comparison: Rich Gannon Kordell Stewart Kurt Warner (game featured Orlando Pace, 1st overall in 1997) Steve McNair Peyton Manning (2 times; 1st overall, 1998) Jake Delhomme Ben Roethlisberger Donovan McNabb Byron Leftwich Chad Pennington Philip Rivers
Not sure what you trying prove Kurt Warner won MVP in 2001 when Brady beat him Gannon won MVP in 2002 season after he beat him McNair and Manning were co MVPs in 2003 Brady beat them back to back Manning was MVP in 2004 Big Ben is a HOF QB he beat Luck twice beat MVP MRyan in 2016 beat MVP Mahomes in 2018 beat MVP Arod in 2020 in fact the amount of that seasons MVPs Brady beat in playoffs is crazy
@@davis2k1234 I'm not really trying to prove anything, and you make a good point about MVPs-the only problem there is Mahomes hasn't had a chance to play against one in the playoffs until this coming Sunday, because so far in his career he's won the award twice and an NFC quarterback (Rodgers) has won twice and failed to make the Super Bowl each time.
Mahomes is striving to beat the best of the best. He’s improving every year because he’s getting smarter and tougher every year. I believe he will wind up surpassing Brady in his career.
Toneys drops cost the chiefs the game against the lions. And it changed the game dynamics against the Bill's where the chiefs would've took the lead by 4pts with 1: 40 min left in the game.
Remember some people wrote him off last year too Rich.... Tyreek got traded... Raiders were gonna win the division I think someone said. He's making a habit of controlling the narrative.
