This is a FANTASTIC STORY!!! I wasn't very happy with Mrs. Fowle and the ways she initially treated Melinda, but I'm glad that she had changed and warmed up to her. I loved the reunion between Melinda and her parents.
Mr and Mrs Fowle were the reason why Matt died. Because they are who they are, he just knew they wouldn’t be able to accept Melinda nor his baby. Poor guy drank himself to death because he couldn’t choose. On one hand, there’s his lover and his unborn child and the other side is his adopted parents who has given him everything but have high expectations for him. As much as he loves his lover and child, he couldn’t disappoint his adoptive parents.

Sweet story but CAN'T STAND the snobby self important mother! Even at the end she hadn't changed, and why couldn't SHE make sure Melinda got an education? What a B! Ugh people in these stories usually learn their lesson.. disappointing🤨

30 mins in, lovely story as usual. Even if fiction. The mother could be partly blamed for her son's death because of excessive expectations and snobbishness. But son was also guilty of indecisiveness.
Oh i guess sometimes we want our kids to do more for us that when something happens they cant come to us and talk to us thats why we shouldnt push the kids to do more then they want to do it was sad and happybut im glad everything worked out 🎉
What an amazing story with a Happy ending. It was an incredible councidence that Melinda, the pregnant girl who Oliver had saved from drowning turned out to be his brother Matt’s fiancee. Oliver looked after her and her little puppy Alf right until she gave birth. He told the doctors at the hospital that he was Melinda’s fiance in order to be allowed to see her. When she was discharged from hospital he took her and her baby home to his parents’s mansion. Strangely enough, his snobbish mother who had disliked Melinda because of her poverty accepted little Tommy as her grandson. In the meantime, Oliver realised that he was developing feelings for her and that she was the girl that he had been waiting for all his adult lifeand that she was andstarted dating her.He finally confessed his love to Melinda and she in turn told him that she too had fallen in love with him. A few months later they got married. After their wedding Melinda received a letter from an unknown couple asking to meet with Melinda. She asked her husband to accompany her. They went to a luxury hotel where the couple were staying. There, the couple told them that they were Melinda’s parents and that they were in the jewelry business. One day they received death threats from bad people who wanted to take over their business. Frightened, they went abroad to hide and left Melinda with a nanny.The crooks were also looking for Melinda and the nanny.Melinda ended up in an orphanage. When her parents returned to the country they searched for Melinda for years but to no avail. It was only when they saw photos of Melinda’s wedding did they realise that they had finally found their daughter. Her father told Melinda that she was a copy of her mother when the mother was young. They also told her that they wanted to hand over their jewelry business to Melinda as she was their sole heir. Melinda agreed and decided to take a course to study jewelry.When they got home Melinda told Oliver’s parents about the meeting with her long lost parents and that they wanted to hand over their jewelry business to her. Melinda’s mother in law was thrilled and remarked that had she known that Melinda was the heir to a jewelry business she would have been kinder to her when they first met. And now that Melinda had to attend a course on jewelry, she offered to take care of Melinda’s baby Tommy. So all’s well that ends well. The poor beggar girl who met her beloved by sheer coincidence was now happily married to the man she loved and had his child. And best of all she found out that she was not an orphan but had parents who love her. ❤
