प्रतिभा जी! पॉपुलर सिंगिंग की दो फील्ड्स हैं एक तो फिल्म्स और दूसरा प्राइवेट.. प्राइवेट में भी दो, एक तो फिल्मी टाइप का और दूसरा ग़ज़ल्स.. आपकी विशेषता ये है कि आप हर फील्ड की सिंगिंग में बिल्कुल फिट हैं, जबकि चित्रा जी के बाद किसी भी फीमेल सिंगर को वैसी पॉपुलैरिटी नहीं मिल पाई.. उनके बाद ग़ज़ल सिंगिंग में कई फीमेल सिंगर्स आईं उन्हें व्यावसायिक सफलता यानि पैसे भले ही मिले हों लेकिन वो मुकाम नहीं मिला .. आपकी ग़ज़ल गायिकी में वो बात है जो आपको चित्रा जी की दिशा में ले जाती दिख रही है.. लेकिन समस्या ये है कि ग़ज़ल की अदायगी तभी हो सकती है जब सिंगर उसे अपनी नज़र से देखे और अपनी नज़र से दिखाए, किसी और की कंपोजिशन चाहे वो कितनी भी पॉपुलर क्यों न हुई हो, वो गाना, गा तो बहुत से सिंगर सकते हैं लेकिन ग़ज़ल का कंटेंट उसमें बसे फील्स होते हैं वे सिंगर के अंदर से न निकलें तो ग़ज़ल सुनने वालों के दिल में नहीं उतरती. वैसे सिंगर अपने गले की तैयारी से कितना भी उसे लज़ीज़ बना दे लेकिन फील्स न आएं तो ग़ज़ल ज़िंदा नहीं होती.. आपको संगीत का नॉलेज है आपने सीखा भी है और जाना भी है. लोग संगीत सीख तो लेते हैं लेकिन जान नहीं पाते सो ही उनके संगीत में जान नहीं आ पाती. आप सुर को देख समझकर लगाती हैं.. खरज में दानों के साथ चलती हैं सो फील्स उभर आते हैं और सुनने वालों को हिला डालते हैं.. बात लंबी हो रही है सो शार्ट में, ये कि आप हर तरह के गाने गाएँ नो प्रॉब्लम, साथ ही ये ध्यान दें कि किसी भी सोलो फीमेल सिंगर को ग़ज़ल सिंगर के तौर पर अब तक वो मुकाम नहीं मिला है, पुराने जमाने की महफिली गायिकी और बेगम अख्तर वगैरह के ज़माने की बात न करें, क्योंकि तब न मीडिया था और न ही ग़ज़ल सुनने वाला मॉस. अब तो जगजीत जी के द्वारा पैदा कर दिए गए देश विदेश के करोड़ों ग़ज़ल फैंस फिर उस जादू का इंतज़ार कर रहे हैं..... वो जादू आपके अंदर मुझे दिखा है.. जगाना आपको है.. जगाना चाहें तो!!!
