Richard Sanfield was truly a great talent. My brother and I are sitting there among the group of kids. What an awesome find. Thanks very much for posting the video. Both of us, and our kids, loved the video, and Ricard’s act. Great song too!!
Richard, I've been collecting your albums for 20 years. I am a huge fan! Its the first time I caught your act 'in person' and it just confirms the fact: You are a comedy legend, one of the all time greats! THANKS FOR THE LAUGHS!
Here I am back in April 27, 2024. I am revisiting this video of because of the GENIUS of RICHARD SANDFIELD! He was around 80 from my last post, which would make about 85 today. This is if he is still here with us. I will google him after this post. Many people said FOXX had the best TIMING but I BEG TO DIFFER. Sandfield had to have better timing because he had to deliver a punch line from another character while setting it up from himself.
Man, this is how you know this man is a TRUE and natural comedian. He's able to amuse and entertain kids and he's still himself. There's only been a few that were able to entertain grown-ups and then switch it up and play for kids at the same time: Pryor, Robin Williams, he who lurks between the pudding pops, and Richard Sandfield. I got introduced to Richard and Willie as a kid via Richard's Firecracker, still my favorite R&W album after all these years.
I just found out that RICHARD SANFIELD is 80 years old and is living very well in CALIFORNIA. He retired in 1985 from his comedy act. This is what I was told recently by someone who claims to know him very well. RICHARD must have retained many ROYALTIES/rights from his many ALBUMS, to be doing so well in his retired years.
If it was up to me, they would have this on BET. First time watching this. I love comedy. I am a comedian. K ASI m.. S o u l. Smooth And singer. I was on stage with Paul. Moody. At the black repertoire theater in North. Oakland I know Rodney Perry. K a t t williams. Scracho. Courtney G.
WOW...RICHARD SANDFIELD with his sidekick WILLIE! I have all this man's ALBUMS!!! I don't understand why he did not go MAINSTREAM! Maybe he was TOO BLACK and SOULFUL! He was like PRYOR X 5. Many people don't know he was BOBIN HARRIS' INSPIRATION!
