you realize that its a senior event right ? and that the Senior Tour plays a lot of 54 hole events. So he beat a field where 100% of the players are over age 50 and play mostly 54 hole events. It's a great win for Richard Bland, but as with all senior golf it has zero relevance on real pro golf such as LIV or the Pga Tour etc.
The LIV haters will be spewing, suck it up Couples, and Blandel. Good on the PGA of A. Even Ernie said that LIV isn't real golf. I have followed Blandy since his first win on the DP tour. Hope he wins more to really shove it up them.
Congrats Richard ! Well done. Had to be extra sweet being paired with LIV hater Ernie els in the final round. Just the look of utter destain on Ernie’s face the last few holes was very amusing.
This is where the PGA and the PGAT are so different . The PGA realises that they need stars to play in their tournaments and actively allows them to play. They want the best field. The PGAT by their specious and petty annoucement immediatly following Richards win will do nothing towards getting the tours back together. Reminds me how Peter Thomson was treated, as a five time Open winner, by the PGA back in the sixties. He came to the senior tour and blitzed them.
