Great to see you here Ramsey! Always got time for what you have to say! 🌏☮️✌️ Edit* I just realised my personal profile is subbed to you but my content channel wasn't, so you have 2 subs from me now 👍👊
Prisons down here in the south are mainly populated by the Latinos, there’s so many different kinds of Latino gangs that they just fight each other instead of clicking up with their own race.
Dude, all these podcasts popping up where the host just cuts the guest off continuously is so frustrating (Steve-O and Howard Stern come to mind). Jon lets them tell their story and only "interrupts" to get them to elaborate is awesome. He really does want to hear their stories...
I spent 15 years in prison. Today I’m bartending and raising my 3 year old son with my beautiful Salvadoran wife. Sometimes I feel sorry for myself for what I could’ve been. Then I think, 5 years ago I was making .17$ an hour coming off 2 years in solitary confinement. Success is relative to where a person has been and what they’ve been through
Good for you bro, takes a real man to get out that lifestyle and handle your business especially after being down for 15. You made it out for a reason, keep showing your son how to be a Real Man. ✌🏽💜
I wouldn't fuck with him... I know that look... I have the same look... It's the look of You can try but don't test me.... Cause I have no limits. If shit has to go down deep it's coming.
Exactly. They are on a podcast for a reason, to tell their story. A lot of podcast owners just make it about them mostly, asking pointless questions and interrupt them all the time
Richard is so captivating. I remember seeing him on American Crime, and I was blown away. He has my full attention anytime i see him in anything new. He's making mexians everywhere proud 🇲🇽
JB is a master at listening. You can also tell it's not some bullshit act. You can see it in his eyes that he's genuinely engaged. It's part of his craft. To be a great actor, like him, you have to observe and listen, and that's precisely what he does on his podcast. I've never seen a podcast where the host doesn't interrupt the guest. This dude just listens and lets his guest spit everything out. Podcasters pay attention. This is how you do shit the right way.
Its amazing you showing the raw emotions of the interviews, you are truly a exclusive person. From your backstory to your movies/Tv Show's. Amazing work.❤️
@@BleedGreen2l5 never met the guy would love to. But I just know a little more about him obviously because he’s famous but he really seems like a really good guy. Nothing but respect for Jon
Jon made all of us believe that he been doin the show forever and he been the best interviewer for many years.. he's just a great gut and he never interpreted his guest and let them speak freely.. Just amazing wish u the best bro Keep doin ur thing .
Thank you Jon for giving these young, misunderstood men a platform to voice their experiences and tribulations. So many young men AND women fall into gang life all over the country, and very few care to ask why. The majority are quick to judge, but never bother to try and understand what they’ve been through. Some of them just need someone who will listen and care. Gang banging culture is often glorified in the media, and that is a problem. There’s a difference between expressing real pain vs. claiming a lifestyle.
Richard Cabral is an amazing actor. Ever see his movies? If you like horror madres is really cool trippy dystopian movie. Hen has a great story on top of talent. ✌️
Richard’s energy is contagious. He’s probably always had this in him.. it’s great to see he’s channeling it in a productive way now. He can change peoples lives with his words and energy. Very authentic
Jon, we all may know you from The Walking Dead or The Punisher But this, this is far more "the" most important work. Giving these people voices, Greg Boyle S.J.
I remember watching Richard Cabral’ - Lo Maximo 2013 video a few years ago and as an Australian, he really did deliver a speech that had me in bloody tears with the passion, truth and held nothing back in his message. You definitely took me and made me feel the world you grew up in. Prayers out to the all the homeboys and homegirls making changes for the bettering(if that’s a word) and positive impact of your community and keeping you culture alive when the odds can be against you in America. Your culture is loved world wide. ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾
Love to listen to his stories. The same way I listen to his old friend, my man's stories. I'm so happy they were able to get out, meet Father G and change their lives. It would be so cool to see them reconnect.
Father Greg is a true man. He use to be the priest at Delores Mission in East LA. I've had family baptized by him and he held the mass for both my mom's parents when they passed. I can honestly say that Father Greg is the only guy that can live up to the standards the Church sets for its people to follow. He's the only priest that is true to their word.
Funny you say that because ive heard his name for decades and how a solid and honorable man he is. like you say a good example of a real Christian and servant of God.
I knew this carnal as Baby Jokes…he used to rap and I used to idolize him. It validates my moves to better my life. Because these emotions are complicated, at the same time that we made our lives better, we feel conflicted on our growth.
I know the feeling spending ten years of my life in texas prisons Our streets are no different than LA with the violence and bloodshed it might not be neighborhood to neighborhood but being involved in drug trafficking made us targets not just for the law but our own. Doing time inside I was tango blast our enemies were many but having your homeboys back is for life. I'm a truckdriver now over 20 years I was released in 2000. . I never looked back at my old life but I still run into homeboys once in awhile. Thank you jon and Richard for that interview 🙏. It was eye opening to a world governed by strict rules of death and life.
Richard telling his story RAW and UNCUT. Mr. Bernthal, you're an amazing host for allowing your guests, all of them, to speak out and vent... Richard did his best here by not self snitching or over exaggerating. Great content man.
The fact that Jon takes the time and effort to listen to all his guess is beautiful no interruptions no arguing no yelling just great not to mention all the knowledge ideas emotions he sees from theses dudes he could use to improve his acting skills even more
Jon is the perfect podcast host for letting the guest speak his mind not interrupting while simultaneously slippin in the right questions at the right moments kudos
Jon brother you doing great thing with your show and the certain stories and truth that are coming out of it are touching not just me, but anyone cuz we all human. Keep doing it man and God bless you for it. Amazing actor too by the way!
I would love to see more of this interview. I grew up in east LA too and know how hard it was going up surrounded by gangs. Not an easy task for a kid.
Once you said Father G! All respects homie, he helped save my life and also saved so many others. You got that right about Father G. Ain’t nobody else I can’t think of other then him as a real Father!! Much love and respect from this Homeboy to another!!! Really talk from the homie, frfr.
damn this dude story telling is on another level, I swear it’s like chopping it up with an old homie and he tells you how he has been since he MIA around the block… crazy shit.
@@joemema7254 if he was on meth u could easily tell, he not doing anything but talking fast but that’s cuz he just reliving what he’s experienced so it hittin him again, he’d be tweakin if he was on meth, u sound dumb asf
I only know Richard cabral from the movie bloodfather with mel gibson. Crazy movie and he definitely shows how real things can get in life through the big screen. Very much enjoy your podcast Jon. I am not too big a fan of tv shows but loved walking dead. My neighbor actually just won a contest from jeffrey dean morgan(neegan) which he videotaped himself packing up dirt from the front of rick & michonne’s house in Alexandria set from walking dead. Bagged, autographed and mailed to my neighbor. Thought you played an awesome role as ben afflecks brother in The Accountant as well as being Shane! Keep up the amazing work and thank you! 🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏🤜🤛 Cheers 👋👋🍻🍻🥂🥂☕️☕️🔥🔥 🐉☁️
Absolutely Love Richard Cabral💯 Sorry Jon ..my bad, both of these Men...😁.. Awesome Human Beings💯 But Richard, I feel you. I cry every time he speaks. It's the very real Pain, the very real Anguish, I feel every bit of it.
Damn when I tell stories about back in the day I get this way telling it, I finally see someone who gets like me just talking about the old days ... one of the best podcasts episodes ever
This is probably the most compelling interview I've ever seen I can listen to this guy talk for hours I wish you would release the whole podcast on RU-vid
Holy shit , this was a legendary interview, every street dude who watches this will relate to this and it could change them , this is probably your best interview no matter the views
This hits so hard inside of me. Listening to Richard open like this reminds me that all of us, no matter what state, what we rep, our street, what nationality we descend from and for a lot lot us, the nationality is north America even. The border moved on my mother's side of my blood. When California became a state, the landowning families that had established succeseful Vinyard companies and produce farms became American citizens and they were all Mexican by nationality but Iberian by descent. They came when Spain came, they settled in Califas way before a lot of European immigrants even came here. Most of the Ortega families have been American longer than all of the colonists. Both of my ancestors, Ortega and Correa were here before the fucking pilgrims and the colonists. So some people would say I'm Mexican and I'm like, no not really. I'm not an Aztec in not Mayan My dad might have been born in Mexico but we were conquistador descendants. we are Iberian, the Ortega are Iberian. So I say I'm Californian and Floridian. I'm more American than the white Amercans who forget They are not natives and America is a Spanish name. We named this place. My blood from Europe came in 1502... anyway. No matter where our names come from. La Raza is la Raza and when I listen to Richard be open and passionate, I see a cousin, a brother, I see me and it makes me wish I could just gather all of us up. The Chicano youth in every state. Every cholo, banger or just a homeboy thats down for his shit but never had to commit cuz were not all active. I would love to have us all just open up and just listen to each other... we are all the fucking same. The culture two or three states away is exactly the same as the other. We talk the same, we bottle up the same, we explode the same, we put up the same hard shell and if we all would just drop it at the same time and talk. We would see we got an army of men, young men even kids that are the most closed up of all. And we all have the same pain that we channel into rage and we just want to warrior up and call out another warrior because like Richard said, we didn't have anything but other warriors to listen and care. I think if we saw ourselves in the eyes of every homeboy we might introduce ourselves instead of throwing up a set, we might just take a stroll and give an ear to each other instead of giving each other a T.o.H.. man I wonder what a fantasy like that could do for la Raza if it became reality.
I remember one of his hood homies gave me advice when I was having girlfriend problems. He said, "F love......... how do you pronounce love backward?". I read it backward and it said "EVOL" ..lol
I remember this dude from the movie the counselor (2013). Very under rate movie, very unique and accurate about drug tracking and having some high paying actors in it
