Evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins and theoretical physicist Lawrence Krauss' discussion titled Something From Nothing. Recorded at ANU, April of 2012.
At the time of writing this video had 4.7k views compared to millions of views for meaningless videos. A statistic that reveals the ratio of smart and intelligent people to simple minded folks.
it happens by pure chanse, there might be trillions of other universa where the laws are not the same, could be even so horrible that it would never even become universe like ours. something is not illogical because you do not understand
@@ezekiel1999 Yes, the multiverse is a convenient way to assume that law happens by accident and enough random tries without a prototype will eventually hit the bulls eye, like playing darts. As Einstein said ‘God does not play dice with the universe.’ Einstein was smart in this as he was in all else. Of course for him and for Spinoza the universe was God and all there is. Neither believed in a transcendent God and for this Spinoza was expelled from his synagogue. The case for a transcendent God is if the universe(s) is or are transient, as is likely, their end is not the end, there will always be more if the Creator is the universe(s) but not confined to it (them) but can bring it or multiples back through consciousness thought and mind; consciousness fundamental, mind emerging with quantum events. How this plays out at the physical level, is understandably a slow process through evolution, not a creation of something new, but an unsheathing at the elemental level of what is already there, as consciousness, mind, energy (electricity, electromagnetism, and magnetism). All of which are little understood today by science and magnetism not at all understood, it is a total mystery.
How fitting,,,, black background,,, red chairs , the devils favourite colours, and a heart beat from hell, 🔥⚰️🔥yes the devil has his preachers too 👺🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️,hell is a horribly long time to be wrong,,,,isn’t it, especially for families and friends,,,,loved ones whom you con, into going, you’ll always live wi😢it forever , the Bible says ⚡️📖⚡️ those who lead into captivity shall go into captivity (hell)!
If you say nothing holds something in to it . then you can not call that Nothing , because that is still something . Nothing is literally Nothing . so how come universe came in to existence from literally Nothing . from absoultly Nothing .
This film should be shown in all schools, at the beginning and end of their school year. It is an amazing conversation that touches on the right way to approach life itself. A smart film for smart people.
Question - When communicating with someone entrenched in Islam (and I don’t see anybody in the religion not deeply entrenched) how do you counter their rebuttal of the Quran not being able to be translated? There always seems to be a missing comma that total changes the interpretation of a verse that upon face value is horrific. Another is to read the Hadiths etc. The delusion seems to always defy logic.
If energy cannot be created or destroyed and if we accept that energy exists then it must be eternal? So what does he mean by the total energy is zero and that energy comes from nothing, I was taught that you cannot create or destroy it, so I'm confused.
Evolved law is reasonable; created law amazing, so amazing that it happened without a mind is an assault on human intelligence. Okay if they are atheists, they are entitled, so are believers, why does belief bother them so much? Why does it get under their skin? Everyone does not have to think alike or feel alike. Get over it.
Krauss proposed that the way matter and antimatter are supposed to cancel each-other, the process can go in reverse and from "nothing" you could get the same amount of matter and antimatter. The total energy of the universe would then actually be 0.
@@tb1146 What Lawrence Krauss describes as “nothing” is not *true* nothing i.e the absence of anything at all. He defines nothing as something physical and “unstable”. Quantum fields of energy. Quantum fields are not true nothing. Essentially it’s a redefinition of nothing to argue that something can come from nothing. The title of his book is misleading. It should be called a universe from quantum fields.
@@ezekiel1999 it's a misconception that any argument would convince either one of them. They believe nothing created them...which is magical in and of itself...so they believe their own horse shit.
